hello every one, so any speed runs as of yet?
i did a speed run 30 mins ago, finished in 3:01:15(very bad time)
but thats bcoz it is a first speed run and i f… up on alot of places and not all shorcuts figured out.
developer did a speed run in like 2:27:00 but he f… up alot 2, but when iwatched him do the run, i did some improvments, it was harder for me also i didint rimember exat monster/soldiers spots.

if any one ask yes i finished the game on hard, nothing so hard if u use brains and are atleast experenced in this kind of fps(competitive back ground of my helps alot).

half-life 1 - speed run record 51:24 on hard(i know u can do alot alot faster record is 29 :s omthing but i always always f up on some places and stuff.)

so im here to ask any speed runs from u guys? share times.

Tomorrow I’m gonna do one. It’ll be my second playthrough so I’m sure I will mess up a crap load, and I won’t know many shortcuts but I can still try.

Not for a long time. I’m still on honeymoon with the mod :slight_smile:

Once I’m all done playing and enjoying the game and just learning everything I can about it, I might try and speedrun it. But honestly, current-gen FPS games aren’t as fun or easy to speedun because the player wasn’t a speed demon and it became harder to find human-usable exploits as the technology and debugging methods got better.

Maybe you can’t break games like you could, but you can cheat it’s mechanics.

That’s what speedruns are about! Get a game that lasts ten hours and finish it in one, exploiting everything you can. I can’t wait to see a good speedrun of BM. :smiley:
I’ll try one myself as I finish the first playthrough, TAS run, even if I’m not good enough to speedrun.

yes i mentioned u in my thread, but u are dev whit lots of runs :stuck_out_tongue: and yes i saw u live on twich doing this.
imo u could push less then 2h hours, i saw one spot where u could of saved time, i bet there are alot more shortcuts, and whit out your deaths, and stuff u showed insted of speeding, i bet u could do less then 2h. im gona try tomorow(have no time today, job) to beat my record im sure i will coz i failed hard on some parts, anyway good luck! :slight_smile:

I did one in 2:44 (not including tram or loads)… not sure exactly what OBE counted, but that was just my 2nd time through. There was MUCH room for improvement. I started out really well but then became much slower during the second half. I started to forget things and get lost a bit. I still haven’t quite figured out the crazy maze that is Lambda Core. :fffuuu:

Sub 2-hours is easily possibly. At the moment I’m guessing around 1:20 for a very good (segmented) run, but I can tell you all that there is a team of us working on a run :smiley:

if i did it segmented like my best time for each map and clipped it together at the end that would be easier. thats a good idea :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, that is how the old Half-Life and Half-Life 2 speedruns managed to be so fast, you split the game up into sections and complete them as fast as possible

Yep, its quite easy to make it in 2 hours or less.
Im trying to make my own speedrun too, looking for possible shortcuts and glitches. This game is full of both and i like it. :smiley:

It’s 3 months from release and there still aren’t any speedruns?? This is ridiculous, or I am missing something.

One of the devs made a speedrun, more or less 3h.

There are also speedruns of tripmines puzzle.
My favorite one belongs to Dkv, he avoided completely the mines using a rocket-jump.
