Something's not loading right on residue processing

Whenever I enter this area in game on the level “Residue processing,” it messes up, the screen tears, there’s a yellow box that says “trigger,” and I can’t advance. I tried verifying the game cache. I switched around settings since people online said the game doesn’t handle high FPS well. I am currently deleting and re-downloading the game. If that works I will update the thread. Either way something went wrong.

UPDATE:
Deleting and re-installing didn’t work. I’m stumped. I can’t think of anything short of skipping ahead to the next level, which would be a pain but better than having a broken game. This needs to be fixed.

I can’t explain the visible trigger, but the screen tear thing is usually caused by looking at a nodraw brush. Can you give us an exact map name (visible when opening the dev console ingame, in the pause menu), and a better description of where exactly in the level it happens?
If other people can recreate the problem, then it’s something the devs need to fix.

The map is //MOD/save/bm_c2a4b.HL1
Here’s some screenshots leading up to the the exact spot

On a related note what is the console command to load the map immediately ahead of that one?

The command is “map bm_c2a4c”
Also, are you running the payed Steam version, or the free mod version?
If you’re running the mod version, then I might not be able to help you that much, as I don’t know if the team is doing bugfixes for that version anymore.

Visible triggers are almost always caused by a busted save game of some description. Have you tried starting a new game from RP?

Yeah I guessed it was a busted save. I use the paid steam version. A couple things probably contributed to it busting.

  1. I haven’t played in a couple of months, and there’s been multiple updates since then.
  2. I switched a bunch of settings since I upgraded to a 1080p monitor.
I’ll skip ahead using the console command but either way this shouldn’t have happened.
