And the events of HL2 were all just a dream that took place while in stasis on the tram back from Xen (assuming you chose correctly)!!! And Episode 1 was merely another level of dream that takes place in the split second between the explosion of the Citadel and actually being blown to smithereens! Etc and etc!!!
And best of all, that means these years of waiting for BM to be finished and released really only took a fraction of a second of tram-sleep in the original Half-life layer of reality, while the credits rolled, leading one to the inescapable conclusion that not only has there been no delay worth all the whining but the BM dev team will have shattered all records of game development time! Imagine, a fully realized remake of one of the most influential games of all time in an updated engine with new art and audio and some new 3D assets conceived and released in microseconds!!!
Unfortunately I suspect that the final unpacking of the innermost .7z file will be the initial “kick” that sends us all spiraling down a chasm of nested realities: the train crashing, the citadel exploding, the g-man adjusting his tie, the credits rolling, and we will all awaken in 1998, checking the temps on our overclocked celerons.
And the credits end, and the CD in the drive stops spinning.
Or does it…?
