Social media campaign starts on Facebook

Though I’ve already played HL1 4 or 5 times, that’s exactly what I’ll be doing next days.

For the last three years I’ve been on half life(1) blackout. I want to play Black Mesa as a game in and of it’self, not as a remake.

Not saying that any way is better, it’s just my preference. It will be neat to see first impressions from people who have recently played half life vs impressions from people who have not.

Saw this at another forum

Woll thes be avalibul for my ipad? It new so shud play, amirite?

Anyway, I just got off from a terrible forum, and had to get that off my chest. Love the new images: The toxic waste and garg-depot one’s being my favorite.

I believe it was system shock or system shock 2 that was a great example of this with “zombies” that would cry and beg your forgiveness while they attack you

while this would probably a bit to extreme a departure from the half life experience it would be pretty fitting for the vort situation

that said from what i have seen i think its all coming together perfectly and i wouldnt want anything changed (accept maybe i wouldn’t mind my name on the list of testers ;P)

That’s me. I feel playing a remake shouldn’t be backed up with playing the original right behind it. It only increases chances of it being predictable whether it being an npc jumping around the corner or any other event. playing it fresh and not knowing what to expect other than from just memory from when you last played the original is how I’m doing it. besides, i already played HL like 30 times without skins and mods, and about 10 times with.

Same, I decided against replaying HL for that reason. I already played it a couple months ago in coop, anyway.

I might play HL2 again though

I don’t understand all you guys who have “stopped” playing HL1, as though ANYTHING better has come out since then…

Yeah, and even if a better game was to be released, I wouldn’t need it. HL is the only game I will ever need, I still do a quick speedrun from start to finish every night before going to sleep

Lol, no you don’t. HL is a long ass game.

Well you can speedrun it in a half hour

That’s only the privilege of gods:fffuuu:

I love you guys <3

Also, I hate you guys – now I have to explain to some moron members of another forum I’m a member of, why you’re taking your time, not giving release dates, and why you’re not gonna be ‘the DNF of Source mods’, and all the other crap you have to deal with all the time over here.

only with special bug/glitch tools and speedrun editing

I can’t bother replaying Half-Life 2 again.
Half-Life is much better and more fun to play.

Added some comparison screenshots to the wiki:

If someone wants to substitute them with better screenshots (these are from Half-Life: Source, the camera is not perfectly located, and there are some I haven’t done), please do.

You have absolutely no freaking idea what the hell you are talking about.

I’m pretty sure those speedrun videos are not done in one sitting but by editing into one video the fastest runs of each chapter.

The game has too many random variables to let it be able to do that kinda thing in a single attempt.

Nice work!

EDIT: Also - noticed that the title of this thread has changed: social media update imminent?

Actually there are people that can beat HL1 in a single sitting without loading segments or anything, just find it on utube.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
