This is neither me showing off nor “my latest”, but for convenience, here’s a Half-Life 1 grunt’s tripod sentry… that happens to look just like a red-team TFC level-2 sentry gun.

Why?

Why not?

A photo I took yesterday evening (or last night?):

For some strange reason, it looks oversharpened here on the interwebz. :frowning:

IT’S STUPID!!! I HATE IT!!!

Copypasta:
A drawing I did at school when I was bored.

Sketches with pencils, lines with 0.1 and 0.3 fine liners and coloured with shinhan twin markers. The glow was done with pastel crayons.

I just set out to draw a creature, based on the rules of a Creature of the Week competition over at Conceptart.

In the end when I chose the colour scheme etc, I noticed that this looks strikingly similar to a Zerg. No particular unit, but it’s colours and features are very much like that of a Zerg.

It was unintended, guess it was a subconscious influence by Starcraft II, which I’ve been greatly enjoying the past few days.

Here’s some info about him:
The reaper is a silent killer. It’s extremely quite and very nimble. It observes it’s targets from the shadows and strikes when it sees fit. It incapacitates the target by releasing a gas produced by sacks on it’s body which, though relatively harmless furthermore, temporarily stuns it. Then it proceeds to kill it’s prey by impaling it with it’s harpoon like arms. They strike in smoothly, then when it pulls it’s limbs out the reverse claws rip out it’s enemies insides. It’s weakness is that it has sacrificed a lot of armour to acquire greater speed and to be more silent which causes it to be a rather vulnerable target. This is why it kills it’s targets before it can act. Confrontation is only recommended in groups. This even counts for vehicles. Though it is unable to incapacitate a vehicle, it can approach silently and unseen to destroy it. The Reapers are most efficient at killing biological targets, but their claws can rip through the toughest steels.

It also looks like it’s 256 colors.

ur mum’s 256 colours.

Lololololololololololololololololololololol

Praise is necessary. You should tell people what they are doing wrong, obviously in a polite manner. But you must also tell them what they are doing right as that is pretty damned important too.

And jeesh, stop it with all the homophobia.

Not enough legs. I mean look at it! Just one gets chopped off and your creature is nearly crippled! You need REDUNDANCY!

Haha, well seeing as it’s a vulnerable creature (relatively speaking) already, 4 limbs will suffice. If there’s something close and powerful enough to rip of one of it’s limbs it’s doomed anyway.

And Dr.Gonzo, though I do agree with you on that praise is also needed, the homophobic comment is a bit lame.
Just because Patonki says faggot doesn’t mean he has anything against homosexuals. Let alone that he’s homophobic.
When you say fuck you to someone do you actually intend to fuck him? I think not.

Some old render. There are lots of mistakes there(the most obvious being the horizon. It’s supposed to be the same color as the water)

First time using ZBrush (heavily WIP ofcourse, teeth missing, curvy arms etc.) Leg might look a bit wierd.

Lookin’ cool so far.

I LIEK.

My first model made entirely in ZBrush (work in progress):

I can see Gordon Freeman hitting it with a crowbar. Or the alien swarm soldiers.

I could see Tiger Woods hitting it while shouting “Four”

Four? Why would he shout “Four”?
