I don’t like the texturing (the use of the combine texture), also those crates seem to have the same texture, why not model the crates with far more detail and a better texture?
The wooden crates and white paper don’t blend in well in terms of color with the darker combine and floor/ceiling textures.

I can’t model, and don’t really want to start learning something else while I’m still learning mapping, so, until then, I’ll have to use brushwork.

Why not? Modelling, UV unwrapping, animation and texturing can be learned in a matter of weeks (even less if you spend many hours a day following video tutorials). Sure, the first results might not be impressive, but you will know the basics. Making crates like that is super easy, you can make them look much better when building them as models, unwrapping them for texturing should be easy as well.

It’s up to you.

I think it’d actually be a lot better without the huge piles of junk in the hallways. And those APCs dont even look like they fit. Seriously, how did they park them there?

The architecture is good enough, it shouldn’t be taken away from by being ‘generic hallway filled with crates’n’props #5864^10’

On second thought, I can see why it’d be necessary to have cover along that hallway. So, remove all the crates, make the far outside wall have a bunch of big bay doors lining it, and parking spaces for the APCs lining that hallway. It looks like a good place for a garage already, as the combine can just walk up those ramps to the middle hallway.

Yeah, I tried it without props, and it looked far too empty and blocky, and the cover is necessary to protect against the NPCs. I like the idea of the APC bay, since the entire area is supposed to be a storage area, I’ll try that out.

Not to suck Bungie’s cock or anything but their maps are great. They’re not repetitive designs, they’re consistent.

Some levels have nice art work, some do not. Its split about 50/50 for me.
