Problem with that is when you leave a fandom on DA your watchers leave as well. It comes down to being stuck in the IZ fandom or having no watchers, I choose having the watchers. But I still have some original things in the work, things I’m going to be coloring the best I can with “values.”

Too bad you guys can’t see the stuff I HAVE shaded … le sigh…

We could if you posted it. Also, stop being so confrontational. No one’s trying to attack you.

On one hand I think “Learn how to fucking shade” can hardly be called criticism. He’s right, but it could be phrased with at least a bit of subtlety. On the other hand Half-Dude is defensive as fuck and might not have accepted the criticism even if it was phrased better.

Showing those cartoons is a poor example. All those cartoons show simplified versions of the real thing. Something you try to do as well, with one fatal difference: You don’t know the real thing looks, those guys do. How can you simplify something you don’t understand in the first place?

The other thing about those cartoons is, that a lot of definition comes from the animation. If your ambition is to create something similar to a one freeze frame of tens of thousands, I don’t know what to say.

?
You think cartoons would be as good without the animation?

Yeah, I didn’t think so. Saved me the trouble of doing six more drawings anyway :3

I admire your rational thinking here, you’re right, it’s all about the way it’s said. When it’s said with the word ‘fuck’ in it, coupled with my past experiences of being needlessly trolled by the guy you’d understand why I was so quick to jump at him (these experiences being with him on DA.) But my answer to you is no, I take criticism with the same respect that it’s given to me with. I’m surprised you guys find my defensiveness so out of place. Most of you should know how the environment of this forum is, you HAVE to be defensive unless you want all the virus-like trolls overwhelming you, you give them an inch they’ll take a mile and then it’s too late, they’ve already won. You guys made me the defensive asshole I am here, live with it. :meh:

quoting Wikipedia:
“Garfield quickly became a commercial success. In 1981, less than three years after its release, the strip appeared in 850 newspapers and accumulated over $15 million in merchandise. By 2002, Garfield became the world’s most syndicated strip, appearing in 2,570 newspapers with 263 million readers worldwide and by 2004, Garfield appeared in nearly 2,600 newspapers and sold from $750 million to $1 billion worth of merchandise in 111 countries.”

nuff said…

Success does not equal quality. Anyone with basic motor skills knows that Garfield is the shittiest comic strip next to Marmaduke.

For the record, I never trolled you. You’re just a very disturbed young man that takes offense to profanity and doesn’t get jokes.

Bonus round: You have a fiendish sexual attraction to cars.

^BASED ON TRUE EVENTS v

HAHAHA

what does a possessed Red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury have to do with anything?

Yeah Ramirezoid, how random of you. :stuck_out_tongue:

BTW what’cha got against the cars man? Did one kill your parents?

Ramirezoid never said he has anything against cars.

I also seem to recall he has an obsession with feet… but those turn out amazing, so it all works out.

Patonki I was facepalming this discussion not you btw.

He’s filling up his pocket with fuel! How dare he!

That’s actually supposed to be Arnie Cunningham in the drawing, not me.

As for the second picture yes, I’m a member of the Christine Car Club. Its an international classic car show devoted primarily to the 58 Plymouth but also dealing with other cars ranging mostly between 1950 to 1980. I do quite a few pictures for the guys there, I’m also the forum moderator on the site. A while back I was invited to Texas Frightmare Weekend with the club leaders. There we met Bill Gibson, the owner of one of the only 2 “Christines” that survived the filming, along with the actors from the movie and John Carpenter himself to get autographs and chat. That picture is me at Bill’s Christine display at the event while we were representing the club with him since he’s one of our members.

I guess since Ramirezoid was so nice to post up my own art for me. Thanks Ram, you’re awesome, ^^ I’ll post a picture I drew while also trying to do “values.” This was my first time shading a car, I did it in my collage art class. The teacher liked it so much he asked to use it as an example on the projector for the rest of the class.

why do you constantly use quotation marks around values?
also car fetish

That’s not funny my brother died that way
