Yeah, it’s rather expensive from what I know, but it looks cool and fun, seen some videos of people painting single units, and it takes a long time and a lot of detail.
I just made maps for wh40k. Was way more fun and allot cheaper. It also helped my buds dad worked for dupont so we had access to some cool paint/tools.

I had a rat who I loved. We brought him to the vet because he was sick, we spent like 250$ on it, just to have it die a little later, we put it to sleep. Then my dad said, wow, why didn’t I just get rid of the rat myself and go buy another one for 5 dollars. Smaller pets like that aren’t going to last long, so don’t get yourself so connected to them. I’m going to be sad when my dog who’s 15 years old dies, but that’s cause he’s been around for 15 fucking years. How long does a preying mantis live? And what are you going to do with it? On top of the good points that Someonerandm made, becoming emotionally attached to something isn’t reserved for people, cats, and dogs dumbass. Have you never heard of the saying “one you name it you’ll get attached to it?” That one holds especially true. The simple act of taking care of something gets you attached to it as well. I went out every week, most of the time twice, and caught food to feed to him.
Um, you have a dog or cat for a long time? It gives you time to bond with them. How long do mantises live? Is it mantises anyways?
