Security guards

No but you like to put nut jobs that want to take over the world in power(Hitler and Napoleon). I beg to differ that we “destroyed an nation for its oil” having actually been there. We over threw their dictator, and we over threw him because he HAD chemical weapons, we know because we gave them to him. Whether or not he still had them when we invaded I don’t know. We are currently in the process of building them an new government. A government that allows them to choose who leads them. They probably would have already had a self sufficient government, police force, and military if they didn’t have so many foreign fighters pouring in disrupting the rebuilding process. Yes we took alot of their oil, but we had to pay for all that ammo, equipment, and food some how. BTW it isn’t just America who are involved, our great and glorious allies were there fighting and in a few cases dying beside us.

And while we’re on the subject, how many times has America done good things? Do you only remember the bad that we do? Do we not spend millions of our dollars to give aid to other countries? How many times do we rush to aid other countries? And when our own country is in trouble who comes to help us? You sit there and thumb your nose at us all you want. We have done more than enough good to out weigh the bad.

Yeah we ain’t perfect…but who the fuck is?

Back on topic: I think the Security Guards should at the least kick the zombies back when they are too close to engage with a ranged weapons. However I don’t think he should bust out some kung fu or anything. Although that would be hilarious.

Edit: wow I missed a whole page worth of crap…my bad.

Yet what you see is on a video monitor.

Since when do Civil Protection officers drop batteries? The drop health, not batteries. Scanners drop batteries.

You would think the scanners ran on solar power…

I don’t see any solar panels on them.

Well, they wouldn’t have to look like human-made solar panels. Either way, Scanners drop batteries, and Metrocops drop stunsticks if they are holding them. And the stunsticks give suit power too.

I’ve never noticed that.

Neither did I, until I did my last run through Half-Life 2 a few days ago.

I’d been wondering where all of that suit energy was coming from.

the gman threw them out for every enemy you kill…of course he freezes time then does it, that way you don’t know whats going on… but yeah thats how it happens…ok that was a lie. sorry.

Actually it only happens once.

Yes Hitler did bad things too but like he had promised he liberated Germany from the Threaty of Verseilles. He also built the country up again ( one bread costed a million Mark for instance ), trained a large army where Germany could be proud of and gave the Germans their honour back. It was just that England and France couldn’t stand it that the Germans were stronger than them.

Seriously, stop trying to argue about which country is best or worst, or how stupid they are. I hate to mini-mod, but it’s getting annoying that so many of these arguments are either incredibly bad, or just plain wrong.

I like the suggestions about the security guards though, but I’d imagine that quite a few have already been implemented, with the possible exception of #3. I’d like to see it, but I think it’s already been confirmed that it won’t happen. The same applies to scientists with dirt or blood on their clothes, soldiers with alien blood on them etc. I’d love to be wrong though, they might have changed their minds.

I’m pretty sure it had more to do with them taking over France and trying to invade England. That and the attempted extermination of jews. Although the President of the country my father was born in wants to pretend that never happened and wants to accomplish the same agenda.

I’m not arguing that my country is better or that any one elses are worse I’m just sick of people only pointing out the “bad things” we do.

Yeah it would be great however, it would be an extremely annoying task for who ever had to impliment it. I think thats why they said the wouldn’t do it.

I don’t get this “my country is good yours is bad” a lot of country has done stupid things aswell as good… America isnt the only country that has done stupid stuff, america isn’t the only country in the war. I remember that a british airstike killed danish soldiers, thats stupid but it (hopefully) was “just” a mistake. In WW2 america helped deafeat nazi germany, thats a good thing. All do stupid aswell as good.

By the way hitler wasnt smart. Thinking he could conquer the world isnt smart, he ended up killing himself, isnt smart…

Variable textures on their uniforms and faces would also do the job…

Actually, you could fight US MARINES just about anywhere on this planet. Sad as it is. The presence of US Marines says nothing about the location any more. This counts double-time for deserts. US Marines (or at least soldiers of some sort) in Deserts are a common sight to my eye by now. I honestly think they belong there. What’s a desert without US Soldiers in it? F**king unreal!
Hey, at least in Black Mesa they will actually FIND weapons of mass destruction! Unlike some other places they have bombed to hell…

@topic:

In “We’ve got Hostiles!” there is an opening scene where a security officer gets attacked by a zombie, striking out of an air vent. The officer fights back with his bare fists, later uses his handgun, before he is ultimately ripped to shreds. So the idea of security guards in scripted melee combat scenes is already implemented in Half Life 1. It would just be taking it to another level if there were additional scenes showing guards fending off alien attacks with their fists and boots.

In Blue Shift there was the “Otis” security guard, wearing no helmet, being considerably overweight and utilizing a desert eagle instead of a 9mm handgun. So the idea of variable appearance and equipment among security guards is as old as this expansion game. Black Mesa: Source already attempts to make each and every single scientist character in the game have his (or even her, for they are implementing females) own face. Would it then be such a huge piece of work to implement two or three more security guard models? What about female security officers? What about overweight guards without helmet? I imagine having an Otis with a shotgun and a redneck accent (g) and a female officer with a damaged helmet, a crusty cut on her cheek, alien and human blood on her combat cest and an mp5 in her hands, looking battle-worn and weary, but still being able to take onto several zombies. Hell, yeah! :freeman:

I know… sound like an awful lot of work. If I were a talented modder, I would do it. But I am just an idiot with crazy ideas. :’(

But if they only made one texture for the ladies, they would be all blooded down before the resonance cascade.

Well, obviously they would make a pre-RC model and a post-RC model

Good idea.

Were you not asked to stop this bullshit?

What, they all had periods?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
