Yeah that’s really expensive. I don’t have that kinda money. And if I did I’d spend it on something else, like a new videocard altogether like a 5970 or something.

Anyway, I took the card apart, cleaned it and replaced the thermal paste. And together with the new cooler it seems just enough to keep it all playable. But it’s still hotter than I’d like. And also, RivaTuner helps.

Ya the ticking is getting worse so i’m backing up all my steam files and starcraft 2 stuff.

Allright, the problem is now completely fixed.

I took it apart completely, and more than 3/4th of the heatsinks was just blocked up with dust!

After cleaning it off, my temps are now a very nice 48 degrees at idle, with the standard fan speeds. And only 58 when playing Torchlight.
