Scary games

Silent Hill 2
Penumbra
Call of Cthulhu : Dark Corners of the Earth ( More interesting than scary)

Those games are highly rated for their scary factor. Silent Hill 2 espically is one of the most freaky, sad, tear jerking, and disturbing games ever. It also has great music and a ground breaking story, so if you want a good game overall with lots of fear, Silent Hill 2 is for you.

Penumbra Black Plague and Overture are incredibly scary. This game has less of a story, but makes you feel like it’s YOU who is playing. I can tell you strait up, this is the only game that made me fall out of my seat with fear. Remember it’s jump and “HOLY SHIT WTF?!” scary, so this game is if you think you’re tough shit.

As a Lovecraft lover, I can surely tell you that Call of Cthulhu is the greatest Lovecraft game there is. It - like Penumbra, is an FPS. This takes place in the 20’s, has decent graphics, and features very spooky atmospheres and lots of Lovecraft monsters, like Dagon, Flying Polyps, and Yithians etc. This Also has a great story, but you need to pay attention in this one. This is by far the hardest game on this list.

Hope I helped. All of these games but “Silent Hill 2” are on steam, but I highly recommend finding the old PS2 and giving it a try - It’s my favorite on this list. These games are sure to get your skin crawling at one point or another. Have Fun

lol… Valve is a goog developer and Half-Life 2 is a great game, but Ravenholm
isn’t scary…
It’s just a bit funny to me how Valve tried to create scary horrorchapter :frowning:
I don’t care what you think about Dead Space, for me it’s a great game
with a great story, great horror and a perfect atmosphere with perfect
sound…

However, I’d never played it, but everybody says Project Zero is good
and scary game.

Exactly this. Sorry, but Dead Space > Ghost Hunters show > Ravenholm.

Dead Space isn’t an amazing game, but it’s pretty damn good, and hella lot better than shitty Ravenholm.

Comming from people who both questionably have dead space pictures.

WHAT? I never EVER understood how Dead Space was scary. It was unendingly predictable.

Several times during the game, I decided to ignore my own senses, and just walk down corridors with my eyes closed. When I heard a screeching violin, I opened them and gunned down whatever had appeared directly in front of me. Pretty basic.

If those where scary to me, my girlfriend is Emma Watson…(i wish they were scary to me…)

no I was just looking for a person holding wine for my avatar and I found that picture and he happend to have a dead space helmet on.

If you shut out your senses, wouldn’t that mean you were scared?

1- im not scared of this game lolz
2- but you closed your eyes and you are shooting randomly at everything
1- thats couse im bored
2- and you pissed your pants …
1- thats how i play a game that is not scary

u mad brah?

I don’t even know how to respond to this. Was there a sentence in there?

Bluemen: I was shutting out my senses while walking forward down an unknown corridor. That’s like voluntarily turning out the lights and then looking for monsters by touch. Amnesia TDD pretty much proved it’s what you CAN’T see that scares you the most.

You weren’t supposed to respond, im just pointing my finger and laughing ;D

Pretty sure it works only in real life, closing eyes while playing a game makes you just more disconnected from it, just look at all the ppl who close their eyes when they see a scary scene in a movie, gives you a sense of control that brakes the illusion ;]

Bioshock…scary?..okay…whatever

I’m pretty sure that was the point.

HEEEEEEEERPPPP

That is all.

errr

fail? :expressionless:

I’m using a old PC,my PC blow up! so this can happen.

That only happends as far as anyone has really gone to find really anywhere.

There aren’t really any recent games that I’ve played that are scary…

Play amnesia, you will think different.
