Scary/ F'd Up moments in Gaming

Psychonauts: Vodello’s kids.

Scariest thing I’ve ever played through was in Thief: Deadly Shadows. It was the section called “The Cradle”

Yeah those are some scary ass games.

No, just low blood sugar and not entirely awake when I typed originally. Sleep deprivation is bad enough on its own, as is mild hypoglycemia. Combine them, and you get epic fails like that.

Although I honestly thought Ep3 is being slightly back burnered to let them focus on Portal 2. If that’s not the case, my mistake. I just hope there’s some sort of more direct tie-in to the Half-Life series than the bits of stuff about a rivalry with Black Mesa.

the part in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis where the titular juggernaut crashed through the window in the police building freaked me out B/C I was usually Low on ammo and that brutish bastard would follow Jill even through doors.

RTCW the catacombs and crypt levels :fffuuu: seeing dismembered German soldiers and the undead lurking in the shadows is scary

Shit dude, I looked at the title of the thread, and the first thought that hit me was Condemned 2. When you’re in the junkie’s apartments or whatever, and you see this mannequin standing right in front of you, just standing there, right up and down. And you walk towards it to get a closer look, then as you turn around, you’re suddenly surrounded with the same type of mannequins, they kinda forms a circle around you.
I must say, it took me a few seconds to realize that i just walked past the exact same spot where these ugly looking mannequins suddenly emerged. I dunno, when i gasped for air after i got scared to shit when seeing this, I felt this strange feeling inside me, like it had happened for real.

Half-Life 2, Ravenholm, only your gravity gun, and the difficulty cranked up.
F*cking poison and fast zombies.

agreed

In HL2: EP2, you know the part in the abandoned town where you pull away the chair that’s blocking the door and a poison zombie breaks it down? Well, when I originally played that level, I didn’t even look through the door window before pulling the chair, so I literally jumped out of my seat, lol.

That boss fight creeped me out more then the sword wielding maniac at the end

Penumbra Series: Black Plague mainly, that game is seriously frightening.

Diablo 1: God damn motherucking Butcher…

Call of Cthulhu: Lovecraftian stuff always gives me the chills.

I was wandering around some cave in oblivion one time, turned around to go back, but there was suddenly this wall in my way, I was like WTF where did that come from? but as i raised my gaze, I discovered that this was no wall, I had turned around and planted my face into the midsection of a minotaur, he had stood silent until I made this discovery, then proceeded to do his big roar, and beat the shit out of me lol

this was the first time I had encountered one of those minotaurs, and it was epic, scared the crap out of me because I was so not ready for that.

also, the scariest recurring elements in a game are all from System Shock 2, the noises that your enemies make, the things they say when they’re right around the corner, perfectly done, I can still hear them all as if it were yesterday, the midwife, maintenance robots, spiders, cyborg dudes, psi overlords…

First time i played F.E.A.R, in the first level, when the skull/flesh/decomposed guy pops up out of nowhere:

SCREAM!

Me: FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!

My son: Mommy! Mommy! Dad said a bad word!

Hahaha, good one!
But I think that Alma in the sewers was THE scariest moment in the game.

Tale of Tale’s The Path in whole. Freaked the shit out of me.

Resident Evil 2, when you see the first Licker thru the window…Shit man…Seriously, that’s fucked up

Resident evil 3, when the nemesis appears out of nowhere…My god, I hated him so fuckin much XD

Penumbra, you dont get scared, you FREAK OUT

Call of Cthulhu Dark corners of the earth, when you get to meet a family (Dad and daughter), then they say that Mom’s in the second floor, you go to the second floor, you check the door…and then…T_T

Silent Hill 1, the School, the entire school is the creepiest place I’ve been in a videogame xD

Yes. God dammit, I really hate mannequins.

And of course I had a flashback to Condemned: Criminal Origins with the dudes that looked like mannequins too. I’m also permanently scarred from that.

At the start of the first Penumbra, I’d say that I was really freaked out when you get out from those little caves and you hear pounding and screaming up above you.

THE BIG BRAIN AM WINNING AGAIN, I AM THE GREETEST! NOW I AM LEAVING EARTH, FOR NO RAESON!
