Save game: Steam compatibility

1st of all thanks to devs and community for your effort. Black Mesa really pops! :slight_smile:

I’m evaluating to play the actual Black Mesa without waiting to come out on Steam.

  1. Are actual save game files compatible with incoming Steam version?

  2. If yes, will have I to manually copy them to a new path?

  3. Last but not least: is there a planned date for BM on Steam?

  1. I would guess no, but who knows, it’s a maybe.
  2. Yes, you will.
  3. The devs most likely have an internal release date, but we don’t know it.

So I can’t decide. Should I play it now or wait for Steam?

No, unfortunately the save files from the currently released version of Black Mesa (Source 2007) are not compatible with the Steam version because the engines aren’t the same.

Maybe I’ll begin to play current version. Anyway I’ll buy Steam ver to support this great project.

Can you please reveal if it will be out by the end of 2014?
