PS3 VS Xbox 360

developers say the xbox 360 isn’t maxed out, but as a PC gamer, you see a difference, lol. The better the games look, usually, the less anti-aliasing and clarity they have, even with 1080p displays. The ps3 is graphically beautiful and nice to have if you’re into eyecandy, but only for exclusive titles. Both suffer from lack of anti-aliasing, but the ps3 moreso. Multi-platform titles look better on 360 than ps3, but ps3 overrall has better graphics. both consoles have their ups and downs, though. if this thread is your way of deciding which to buy, I’d suggest an xbox 360. I’m hardly a fanboy of microsoft, I just began playing my xbox more after i couldn’t keep up with the pc’s demanding titles and upgrade my system.

Xbox Live is undoubtedly better than PSN, and mutliplatform titles are undoubtedly smoother on Xbox due to its similarity to PCs whilst PS3 operates using SPUs and what-not.

if you’re going to buy one or the other, it should be because of their exclusive games or things like blu-ray, though, that may attract you. Find things that you like about the two consoles and buy one. Last-gen, I had an xbox pretty late in its life and liked it. i later bought a ps2 for one single game–metal gear solid 3. i’m probably gonna do that this generation too, if ps3 gets cheap, so you may be planning on that.

IMO they both can kiss the PC’s ass considering their inherent inability to use mods without major difficulty.

this thread has to die…

So you decide to revive it by posting that this thread has to die? Hardly an effective method don’t you think?

I hardly think posting 10 hours sfter the last post is reviving.

No, but it doesn’t help.

What? You don’t like mainstream so you like Xbox which is pretty much the mainstream console?

For once I agree.

It will be locked soon enough I’m sure

PS3 Pros: Better Hardware, hotswapable hard drive cage which can fit any size 2.5" hard drive, has an internet browser and can play Bluray.

Cons: more expensive, only 558 games, never really heard of any online multiplayer games on it. Backwards compatibility problems. Difficult for developers to program their games, president of Sony entertainment handed in his resignation as a result of his horrible presentation at E3 2006 (Data data data … it’s ridge racer Ridge racer!).

Xbox360 pros: only 179$ to start with a 20GB HDD, more games, easier for developers to program the games. 736 games for Xbox 360 and that’s excluding the hundreds of games in the xbox arcade (which has sega games, rare and arcade games), complete backwards compatibility with most xbox original games, you can listen to whatever music you want while playing any game, can play HD-DVDs.

Xbox360 cons: no internet browser, dvd drive can be very loud, game might freeze if you put the console vertically.

I honestly prefer the Xbox360 over the PS3. In 2006 Bill Gates said that this generation of console gaming would be an Xbox360 beside a Nintendo revolution and guess what? he was right.

You forgot to note at the Xbox that it’s about as reliable as a…well…an xbox360. Since they’ve kind of set a whole new level for unreliability. You also convieniently forgot to mention that you have to pay 60 bucks a year for XBOX Live.

Plus: No multiplayer games on the PS3? What the hell are you talking about? Modern Warfare 2? Uncharted 2? Killzone 2? A few of the best reviewed games of the last year, 2 of them being PS3 exclusive?

it’s 50 bucks for xbox live a year.

if you’ve ever used xbox live, you’d know it’s worth it. plus, 50 dollars is nothing–a game is worth 60 dollars, fool, lol, if you can’t dish out 50 dollars, which is around 4.5 dollars, or so, a month, then…

also daedalus i heard that name before are you from TnB?

MGO, Uncharted 2, and Killzone 2. Probably more but those are the ones I’m aware of.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Not really a pro seeing as they’re obsolete.

My X360 seems to forget about updates installed to allow Xbox games to run on it, and without an internet connection i can’t get it to redownload the update either. I wouldn’t call it backwards compatibility.

the xbox 360 fails in backwards compatibility, lol.

i own a 360 and i’m a fanboy, but i gotta be unbiased and admit that. the backwards compatibility sucks. they have it for about 200 games, and games like metal gear solid 2: substance, on my xbox, i can’t play because of the shitty backwards compatibility. it’s disappointing.

Let’s hope the Xbox 640 has better backwards compatibility. Because all Xbox360’s will be dead when it’s released.

answer my question!

I don’t know what tnb is so, no.

I’m not the only one called Daedalus. It’s a common mythological name, used in more than one game.

I am at loss for words for how uninformed people are.

this is the most important question of all

srsly neither can play black mesa so why have it here?

NOTE: im not saying that the dude question is not valid nor am i bashing

just pointing out that a PC game mod site aint the best place for this

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
