So did BF always have the x-marks-the-spot hit marker, or did they swipe it from Call of Duty?

The x-shaped hit marker has been in Battlefield since BF1942 - I don’t think I’ve played a Call of Duty game that has it (it definitely wasn’t in the first one or World at War)
On a side note, does anyone know why my game doesn’t allow me to reload? I mean AT ALL? I made sure that I have the reload key set to r, and I rebuilt my modded coalesced.ini, and it still does not work. It kept doing this since I modded the game to not have reload and have the old me1 system. Strangely after the new computer, it carried over. Probably because I copied some files from the old computer to shorten the download.
How is that strange if you copied the files over.

Question. Did you get the old system entirely back? Because I saw an entry in the coalesced.ini called GunsUseHeat and didn’t know what to make of it.

Edit : god damnit, I type and suddenly like 4 posts appear, and I get ninja’d. Great.
I installed quick loading screen and no starting videos. In the computer I got before my new one, I had use ME1 gun mechanic mod installed. I think that’s what broke the reloading.

I downloaded a mod for HL2 that supposedly replaced the blood mechanics with those from Fear but I don’t know if it worked or not because I have nothing to compare it to XD .
Also some Arma 2 from the demo.
The graphics are really blurry for some reason and it hurts my eyes. Not sure if I want to buy it or not. Heard there’s a free multiplayer version though.
