Damn, I’ve literally been lurking for 3 years and the whole time I thought I still had an active account. Lol I guess I dont.
Phobos001: Your tracks, the 3 which are on the link, all have a common plus, which is the suspenseful mood they set. You do this well. However, I also think there is a common minus, which is a lack of elements. I feel like the suspense and atmosphere can be enhanced if you add more depth to the track with more instruments, ambiance, and all that great stuff.
relinquish152: First complaint is how quiet it is. Im not that much into ambient music, but Im definitely feeling this one. Only thing is the actual sound you use for those uh…bells? xylophone? Kinda makes it sound like those Asian songs. It’s a minor complaint and is very subjective anyways, so feel free to ignore it. No major faults with it that I can detect, LOVE LOVE LVOE LOVE the part that comes in at 1.30, it makes impact somehow in this impactless genre
Great job overall!
asethapart: Uewwgh I hate this genre. Whatever this funk/alternative/rock stuff is called. Umm it sounds groovy? It sounds pretty good, but I’m so incredibly unfamiliar with the field that maybe it sounds just like everything else, which is the impression I get with most of this music.
StriderWSI: I don’t know what Xewton Music Studio is (I use FL Studio), but if all those are not stock preset patterns, WOW! That shit’s excellent, especially the use of the guitar! Nice! I love it, its epic, it flows, really hits you. Especially the string fluctuation at 1.18-1.20. Excellent stuff! The buildup is fantastic! Epic! A definite 10/10 from me. Outro is perfect too, nice and short and sweet! Bravo to you (provided none of these are predetermined samples/patterns
)!
djMDK: For Gonna Getcha, one thing I really hate is the kick, something you’re doing with the compression or something here, is just throwing off the mood completely. The kick is rather crushing to my ears unfortunately, so much so it ruins the rest of the track…OK now ive taken down the low-mids through my sound car eq and I can say, the main arpeggio/riff you have going is pretty interesting, but I don’t think enough happens to the track…i.e. it doesnt progress well enough. Dust1nDust2 (lol counter strike?) is the same story. Kick is much much nicer, and the sounds you’re using are spot on for the mood. However, it doesn’t evolve enough I guess. Actually it’s the same for all your tracks. You really have atmosphere down, you should work on percussive and elemental progression more!
Yeah so it wouldn’t be fair to critique without being criticized back, so please feel free to do so!
