Are there any free apps for very basic dual screening on XP?
Mainly looking to set one of those dual screen wallpapers, instead of having 1 wallpaper copied on both screens by default XP.
Ultramon works in XP I think? It’s the best around

Yes, but UltraMon is severely overpriced, and I refuse to believe there’s no free alternative out there, especially since I don’t really want anything advanced, just slightly more options than the default XP options.
This is for my computer at work, so I’m forced to go the legal way since I doubt they’d fund an app that has no effect on my job.
I dunno about you, I just use the latest version available on the website, and run it as a trial. It takes so little effort to reinstall every 30 odd days, I doesn’t bother me, and I forget it’s a retail product, as you can see.
I guess if it really bothered you you could get a fake activation key…

I think everyone got the hint, but some people like to use free alternatives that work just as well, if not better, than illegally downloaded paid alternatives.

I used display fusion at first. Not great imho…
I use a 2nd computer and Synergy
Mostly because I don’t need to alt+tab out of a fullscreen game or movie to use the 2nd screen.
Well display fusion was what I used, I used it to set up my wall paper then turned it off because you don’t need it running all the time.
If you’re still running XP you don’t need any software to have two different wallpapers over 2 screens, just set the wallpaper to tile and make an image that fits both screens.
I’ve known that trick since my first dual screen card.
Just another example of how XP is better than 7.
