Possible Tattoo Designs

My birthday is coming soon, so I was thinking about getting a tattoo. I grabbed a pencil and started scribbling away, and I would appreciate some feedback on the outcomes. Yep, I’m a wannabe artist.

First, here’s an old thing I did when I was at school:

An ice heart. I used a sharpie to draw the lines, scanned it, and then colored it in PhotoImpression. The wings look awful and pixellated because I drew them separately on notebook paper and had to digitally remove the lines later. Besides, they were much smaller than the heart itself. I personally think the design is way too big, and those colors would surely make the price go up. I don’t have much money, and that’s certainly a problem.

Then the most recent designs come up. Here is something small:

A stylized old-style F-clef. I love music, so I thought about getting a bass clef tattoo, but then I noticed it has been done to death. I did some research and found this design. It was love at first sight. Simple, and most certainly, cheap.

And then, the real point of this thread:

A Half-Life themed tattoo for my ankle. This is the one I would LOVE feedback about. I took the flames from Photostock (lazy, I know, I didn’t even remove the watermark completely), and then added he lambda into the mix. I really, really like it, but I think some comments would be nice, since the design itself would be a pain in the neck to cover later on. What do you guys think?

I’ve always liked this design for a tattoo. More feminine, which is why I would never get it, but damn I love that design. Drawn in MS Paint too, which is the impressive part.

As for your tattoos, for the half life one, I’d probably go without the circle around the lambda.

Although I’m probably gonna get flamed for this, I would advice that you don’t get a tattoo, or atleast think SERIOUSLY hard on whether it’s a good idea. :expressionless:

Why? If he’s already drawing some concepts I think he didn’t just wake up a morning and said: “Shit I’m gettin’ a tattoo. Now!”

It’s one of those things that a lot of people regret in later life. Especially if you later get involved with someone who doesn’t like them (they should respect your right to have them, but you’ll always be aware that they find that part of you a bit icky).

looks cool but i’ve never seen the point in tattoos for video games or music although i want to get the keywork on my shoulder blade

i probably won’t because my mom would cry she hates tattoos my sister has 4 and she cried when she found out

i always wanted a tatto, but never had the balls to get one. I always get bored fast with things, so i bet i owuld hate it after some time.
As for your designs, sorry to say this, but they all look pretty bad.
The ice hart looks like some kind of water ballon shitting blue crystals, and the wings dont fit with the sharp lines of it, and the bottom of it just dosnt make sense.

You are thinking of getting a perma tatto, and are to cheap to spend some more money on one it ? Come one, thats just stupid, you can just save for few months, or sleep with a tatto artist, i bet he would do that for free then ;]

the second one is to simple to care, and the third looks half decent, but getting a game thamed tatto isnt a good idea.

I really like that drawing, although it does look feminine. I still can’t believe that was made in MS Paint, though :wink: And I’m a girl.

Hah, jeeze, I’m sorry. I’m not cheap, it’s just that the economic crisis has hit South America real hard.

I’ve been saving money anyway for a year time now, because I wouldn’t sleep with anybody for a mere tattoo. But, if we are talking about an early copy of BMS… Well, that’s different!

Not to mention anti-aliasing… though maybe Vista’s version of Paint got something new.

If I were getting a tattoo, I probably wouldn’t go for color. One, it’ll look pretty different on skin than on paper or screen; two, it’ll probably look a bit weird compared to the original as your skin tans/pales. Three, I like black and white.

But I imagine color’s just an approximation when it comes to skin. And I never had a tattoo, so I don’t know how much one cares about color in the first place.
