Hey, First time poster longtime follower of black mesa

Anyway, steam forums was taking forever to approve my account to I decided to post here…

I was looking at that picture that “FIRETIME” posted (https://i.imgur.com/5wbap.gif ") and something caught my attention…

“Unauthorized access to this system is prohibited and is subject to criminal and civil penalties under Federal laws including but not limited to Public laws 83-703 and 99-474.”

I decided to look up these laws and found this website

I found that by searching 83-703 and public law or something (I forget the exact search)

It’s kinda similar to what the log in screen says that everyone is so desperately trying to get into (https://i.imgur.com/5wbap.gif)

Whats also interesting is that is says

The exact other law that appears on the log in screen.

This makes me think that this website has something to do with everything…

What’s interesting is that some people have theorised that the building looks like an elephant from the top down view, and there have been ASCII elephants appearing on the BBS channel or something like that.

I was implying that it is a date. (12/3/5)

We can interpret it as such, depending on format:
December 3rd, 2005.
March 12th, 2005.
March 5th, 2012,
May 3rd, 2012.

some one converted the output to pics and blurred then a little to better visualize the original images.

Also the elephant thing is kinda bullshit. Funny and awesome that some one went out there to search for the entrance to aperture labs but the whole elephant argument was derived from a garble of text output from some one who was using the wrong font (system instead of terminal) when connecting to the bbs.

EDIT: also they found that on the BBS GLaDOS us running version 3.11

I’m trying to remember a scary scary one that was kinda big back in the day. It had people calling your home phone at 3am with a scary voice mod, and information that was burned onto NES carts. My cousin was big into it but quit one day because he was too freaked out by it all. Apparently the people running the thing would find out personal information about the people and relay it back to the users who were getting close.

so far everything is just portal. The source information, the images that were generated with the wav files, the BBS administrator name, and the ASCII art that was returned on the BBS are all portal related.
