Portal 2 : Repercussions

I’m going to say maybe…

We need to keep this page alive!

No we don’t. If there’s nothing to talk about, the thread can rest until something new appears. This mod doesn’t die if the thread does.

Something new perhaps?

It looks absolutely fantastic, great atmosphere and more!

Makes you wonder exactly what could be causing those pulses, doesn’t it?

Your lighting is amazing. And the atmosphere is phenomenal.

The Hype is back, it looks wonderful!
Is that a radioactive heart beat?

:stuck_out_tongue: I love everything you make.

The lighting and environment work (especially in the whole door/lift transition room) is incredibly beautiful. Soundscape and track are great too.

Also love the fact that the gun’s display actually switches to a digital geiger counter dosimeter type readout. It’s a great touch.

Exactly!!!

It’s like watching LOST all over again, first look on the bunker and such…

I’m way too excited!

The dev absolutely knows what he’s doing or he doesn’t know in which direction he’s heading  (As LOST over the seasons!)

Found another movie, same level without the pulsing:

It’s like something geothermical or electromagnetic

I hope he goes for the one with the pulses, gives it a lot more atmosphere

Judging by the upload dates, I’d say the video without the pulses was an earlier iteration of the area (before he either implemented or decided to include the pulses). So I wouldn’t worry about the pulses being omitted- which is good, since it’s probably one of the best concepts I’ve seen in a good long while.

It IS an early version, sometimes I upload multiple videos of a map as I progress.

First checkup here in awhile, but wow that is some really nice detail in the design. I like the lighting a whole lot too. Definitely nails the spooky Old Aperture feeling from Portal 2, so great job!

How far along is the mod at this point (if you can say)?

I guess I gonna get the shivers when I play the mod!

Update on the portalgun, effects more specifically.

I love the lightning. I love the effects. The little glares are perfect. The soundscape is amazing. The details are incredible. The portals are beautiful. I cannot wait to see more.

I pretty much just come back to these forums for your updates. I’m looking forward to this almost more than Xen.

I just stumbled across this minutes ago. How did I not know about this sooner?! This looks absolutely mindblowing, and I’m not just saying that, I MEAN IT. I could make list of all the things you absolutely nailed, but that would take too long. I would make a list of the things I don’t like, but that doesn’t work as well, because there simply is nothing negative to say. This is way beyond beautiful. Everything just fits. The portal gun’s design seems so plausible and somehow fits into the universe in such a unique and fascinating way, I’m literally cannot think of any words to describe this. Because I’m such a huge fan of Portal and the Half-Life series in general it means so much more to me how you (seemingly) thought of every detail to make the Aperture you’re building as believable as possible. (btw, I really like the clever use of the first person Portal 2 animations for the intro scene. Looks really cool.)

…definitely adding this one to the imaginary list of things I just can’t wait to play when they’re finished. This is awesome. Can’t stress it enough.

I just realized something else I really like about these tidbits of maps, most obviously the pulsing bits. It reminds me of Minerva. And I loved Minerva. I just know I’ll enjoy this just as much. Judging by the amount of care and work you’ve put into making everything look so amazing, this will become one of my mainstay-replay games, for when there’s nothing else good around.
