Portal 2 Packshot

Do you know nothing of coop?

It’s kicking itself in the leg for some reason.

Edit: Oh yeah, you can have two blue and orange portals now, can’t you?

That is not the game cover for sure… They wouldnt focus on the mp over the sp.

No. Orange/Red, and Dark Blue/Turquoise

It is.

And just because the Coop characters are shown, doesn’t mean that they focus more on it. The cover just shows, whats new in Portal 2: Coop.

Agreed. OP needs to provide sauce before I’ll believe that’s the cover.
It looks like shit. Not entirely sure why though. Perhaps it’s because there’s so much going on. Valve game covers are generally pretty simple. Also that picture is way way too white. Makes the entire thing look faded.

Also, if you look at it, what’s going on makes little sense. All the perspectives are waaaayyyyy off. It’s pretty clearly a bad Photoshop mashing together different parts of the game.

What is the obsession with the coop robots?

If you would read the post above yours.

Well, Portal 2 is actually pretty white, I mean, because of the testchambers, so there’s a reason why it’s white.

Where are those 2 portals going anyway? Just plain white.
Pure shit.
Good thing I don’t have to see it when I’ll buy it from Steam.

WTF is this EA extranet? And it’s not a news article or anything stating that this is the packshot. I’d like to see a news article from a well known site announcing that this is the packshot. I googled it and I found ONE site claiming this is the packshot and it’s one I’ve never heard of before.

First, no the test chambers aren’t always white. If you watch one of the trailers you will notice that much of the game is now grey and often very dark grey. Second, this isn’t test chamber white, this is some silly badly done photoshopped white around the two robots. And the perspectives are still way way off. This is probably just a fan made packshot made by badly photoshopping pictures from the game that ONE relatively obscure gaming news site mistook for an official packshot.

And this. The portals are the wrong color for co-op. I don’t think Valve would mess up this badly on their own packshot to an important game.

when you’re too dumb to realise that this ‘EA extranet’ is one of the sources where all official press release material is held, you don’t get to “WTF” people. also, learn to search.

This box art was released by EA for their press release about providing Portal 2 physical copies in a ‘EA Partners’ contract with Valve. That doesn’t mean it’s the final box art, but it sure is official.

Alright, I agree with you with this, that no other site has talked about it yet.

Do you mean those where you can’t place portals? Or those where plants are growing?

What is wrong with that. Atlas created a blue portal where P-Body jumps out, and P-Body created a orange one where the bot jumps in. The colours are right.

That I did. I googled EA extranet and nothing very clear came up. Next, this isn’t a news article or anything, it’s just a couple thumbnails labeled P2 packshot. Then there’s the fact that the ONLY sites referencing to the packshot are this one and a site called xboxer360. If IGN and Gamespot and the other popular gaming news sites all pick this story up then I’ll start believing it.

EDIT: @diepeonte One of the entire teaser videos takes place in a factory that is pitch black both in lighting and textures. Also, the white in the packshot isn’t a white test chamber wall but a ugly white that has been quickly photoshopped in and makes little sense.

Well, first, the blue portal looks like the blue from portal one, which is right in between co-op’s light blue and dark blue. Second, the orange-yellow portal looks a hell of a lot like Portal 1’s orange-yellow portal. Whoever made this was modeling the portals after the ones from Portal 1. Next the situation you suggested doesn’t make a hell of a lot of sense because the portal bridges generally have to be redirected by portals so Blue has probably already used up his portals redirecting the portal bridge. This is even more likely seeing as the bridge is going at a very strange angle.

And finally, look at the packshot to ANY other Valve game. Valve packshots are always either symbols or portraits, not zoomed out action shots.

This edit makes a lot more sense. So it’s pretty much just a placeholder.

let’s hope so

I don’t think Valve would make a box cover that ugly. Especially not a box cover that is ugly and against their style.

What is “their style”

Oh my god people bitch too much.

Who cares? We’re all buying this off steam anyway.

I won’t, if there’s a chance of getting the boxed version, I’ll buy the boxed. But that’s mainly because I don’t want my racks to look empty.

I’m with Bolteh on this one, it’s the main reason I never download or rent movies.
