Portal 2 Music Remixes

Hey guys, I’ve decided to recreate a number of my favourite tracks from Portal in a variation of styles. Some will be quite different to the originals, whereas others will be very familiar. :stuck_out_tongue:

Note: I will not be taking the tracks and simply ‘remixing’ them, I’ll be recreating them from scratch, with my own arrangements, instruments and effects. These are also being made just for fun, and your enjoyment. If you have any suggestions or a particular track that you would like to have, ‘reimagined’, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll try to get it done!

Reconstructing Science
MP3
(I went for a slower, more atmospheric and emotional vibe with this one. Inspired by Deus Ex)
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
An Accent Beyond
MP3
(I’m not entirely happy with this and will probably end up redoing it)
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
Stalemate Tension
MP3
(A little bit of Piano mixed with a healthy dose of tension!)

I’d love to know what you think of them.

Thanks,

Harry.

Were you always god, or were you awarded the title?

:awesome:

:awesome:

Its really spooky, nicely flowing and can easily become part of the Portal theme.
But what i like about the original was the extra drum-beat which made it spooky cause instead of being slow and therefore unpredictable in places, it was fast, and therefore you didn’t have the time to predict, which in the test chamber (especially if you were trying to do it fast) made it intense.
But please, don’t see this as a criticism, cause its not, you asked what we thought of it, so i gave my opinion.

It’s pretty awesomely edgy. It’s like a combination of ME music, DE music, and of course most of all Portal 2 music, with an original flare to it.

Nicely done, a clip of this is my now my Windows startup noise.

:bulb: DO WANT

Fantastic work man, your work never stops surprising us!

are you some kind of demi god?q

Thanks guys! Not quite godlike yet by any means! :3

Time for another track! One of my favourites is An Accent Beyond, so here’s my take on it:

Could a mod please rename this thread to Portal 2 Music Remixes?

Let me know what you think!

Thanks,

Harry.

Absolutely amazing stuff! I love your machinima vids as well. I subscribed on youtube.

Renamed the thread for you.

Will you be remixing any of the other Half-Life saga soundtracks?

Personally I’d love to see remixes of half-life16.mp3, half-life17.mp3, or of HL2_song29.mp3

I’ve finished the ‘Stalemate Intro’ section:

That part was a lot of fun to make!

Thanks,

Harry.

I thought ‘Stalemate Tension’ was called ‘Don’t Do It’. Unless my ears are stupid and I don’t know what you remixed…
