what about the ps3 users are they gona have to pay for the DLC?
If Valve wants money for that they are dead for me.
Probably just the Hydra mappack they already announced. Correct me if I’m wrong.
No. If they will be free for PC, then it will be free for PS3 too. They have to sell them for Xbox, because Microsoft doesn’t want Steam on XBLA.
Lol. Even if it has a good price/performance ratio? The most people even complain about the free DLCs by Valve. Maybe they should sell the Portal 2 DLCs, so the people would realize how worthy the free DLCs are.
I guess then every other developer is already dead for you.
This. People are retarded.
I expected DLC for Portal 2. It makes sense to do it more for Portal 2 compared to Portal as Portal was a “testbed.”
Portal 2 will have custom co-op bot skins instead, effectively being the same thing as hats in tf2.
Besides its not that we want valve to give us hats its that they have gone crazy with giving hats for commerciallizing, Homefront, Shogun 2, Killing Floor, Potato sac…The potato sack they gave a hat for that and the portal pin I mean the PORTAL PIN??? for playing games that have nothing to do with the potato sack, and they did that instead of giving portal pins to people who preordered portal…do you not see the problem here?
I just hope the DLC will be good
Valve really wants people to know about something involving those potato games, that’s why they are having these sales and free dlc things. So it’s obviously not portal 2 cuz everyone knows about that already.
You don’t want Valve to give hats? Then don’t fucking use them.
You commercial whore- must you buy everything that contains a hat? No. Is Valve or game’s devs forcing you to buy it? No. Are they even pressuring you into it? No.
If they were going to give a Portal pin though, it’d make sense to do it with P2 preorder. Yes.
DLC will be great, I’m sure.
The potato sack is some kind of advertisement for Portal 2, but it would make more sense for the pin to be for Portal 2. I think Portal 2 preorders may get something,we just haven’t been told.
On topic: DLC is updates that we pay for, in my opinion.
I’m hoping for some sort of testchamber editor which means that even cavemen like me can have a go if we have a decent idea :3
…and not a half-assed editor like the Portal 1 one.
DLCs are usually new new levels. In the case of l4d and portal, they are…
So…
Levels are useless?
Yeah free content is useless
herp :retard:
I dislike DLC in comparison to old school expansion packs. I find that DLC tends to make me more hungry for content than it does fulfill my craving for it. That being said I hope all the Portal 2 dlc isn’t just co-op stuff, it would be cool to get some story orientated single player DLC.
For me, quite the opposite. I hope that the singleplayer has a solid enough narrative not to need it, while I hope the co-op has a slightly more ambiguous storyline, like L4D, allowing for many additional maps. The furthered formalization of user-made maps supports this sort of thing.
That’s how I’d do it anyway :retard:
I hate it when people say stuff like that. Hammer is not hard, you just have to learn it. Not every editor can be easy and tile based like the Alien Swarm editor. Hammer is NOT half-assed
LBP level editor ftw
That would be just like if the Alien Swarm sdk’s user friendliness went out of hand.
To be honest, I prefer hammer as “advanced and full of functions” instead of “easy with everything done for you”. I mean; where is the creativity if you can just edit a room and put in nothing more than ball launchers/catchers, cube spawners, panels and all of the other things that just should be prefabs in addition to cubes and turrets.
While hammer uses advanced, customizable and useful entities that could not just make the components mentioned above, but also create new ones! (Example).
I don’t want an editor that can be used to edit the game with it’s components, but an editor that was used to create the game itself!
