Portal 2 DLC Emerges this month

Whats the word on the new dlc? Worth the reinstall?

Yeah. It’s pretty hard and fun. Short though, took about 1 and a half min to figure out all the puzzles, except that i cheated on one by strafejumping(very slightly so that i won’t fall into the ater) and hopping.

Of course.

We are talking about new testing rooms for the co-op mode, and if I remember correctly, there are at around about eight test chambers.

The second DLC called Perpetual Testing Initiative is coming on 8th May. For free.

A brand new, a complete new easy to work with editor, to create maps.
There will be a Steamworkshop for Portal 2 as well. That means, you can easily download custom maps with a few clicks in Steam and play them.

Can’t wait for it!

So what about all those guys learning to make portal maps in hammer?

They can make them more spectacular. Put more effects/new things into it. The editor is for beginners.

One thing does not overlap the other.

Yeah, make a raw map in this new editor and fine-tune it in Hammer.

I’m actually fairly curious as to how the new editor will work, simply because a BSP file still needs to be compiled before it can be played. How will the in-game editor handle that, and how will users unfamiliar to compiling levels react to the wait?

You can always check out on Hammer the levels you create in-game.

I’ve seen a leaked short version, how it will be. You have a small room. You put something in or stretch it, expand and so on and you can directly, with only one click, get into it to try it out. You only needed to wait around 0,5 seconds.

I didn’t see it any further, though.

That video was removed unfortunately.

Yep. Shouldn’t be official anyway. Now there are rumours, that Valve won’t give any special access things to the translators anymore.

Ohh… topphattwaffle for leaking it…

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
