Pixelated skyboxes (with fix)

Ok, this may sound like nitpicking, but it’s so easy to fix that I decided to report it.
Under close inspection, the HDR skyboxes look very pixelated, thanks to a bug within the Source Engine.

Fixing:

Just check the “Point Sample” flag and save the file. It seems that the engine belives it’s “true” when it’s “false” and vice-versa.

Also feel free to check my article. There are some tips on how to properly compile HDR skyboxes there.
And congratulations for the awesome mod! I can’t wait to play Xen.

Funny, I JUST noticed that playing through Surface Tension again.

Thanks for posting this one. Actually there’s yet another problem with the skyboxes - in case you have mat_picmip set to anything higher than 0 you’d get a visible border at the edges of the skybox cube. Looks really silly. I could post a screenshot illustrating this problem if requested.

Yeah, that’s why when I compile skyboxes I don’t save the mipmaps at all:

They just waste disk space for no benefit.
