Pixel art wallpaper - a cityscape!

I have an idea for an animation that revolves around a piece of music I wrote titled, “Mode 7”. The title is a reference to a technology developed by Nintendo for the original NES that would allow for 3D-like environments. It was used in games like F-Zero and Mario Kart.

Anyways, this cityscape is a backdrop for the animation:

Download:
2560×1600
1920×1200
1680×1050
1280×800

It looks great, but the edges look dull. All the detail is on the center, and otherwise its just blocks.

looks good, but the reflection doesn’t match the view.

P.S wasn’t ‘Mode 7’ for the SNES?

It doesn’t match the view? I’m pretty sure it does.

Thanks.

The reason for there being a lot in the center and less as it goes further out is because this is at a far enough distance from the city that you can see it in it’s entirety.

Like this photo of LA:

At least, that was the intention.

Thanks and you’re right. SNES.

It looks awesome.

Yeah, but that doesn’t mean you should just give up and do blocks. And on your refference, the busy part is on the middle of the city. In your image it looks like its on the edge, and it conveys that the city has this weird T shape. Also the rest of the clouds look tad shoddy.
