Pirating VS Buying

Your understanding is wrong. The internet sometimes drops for a while out here, so if I want to play a game to pass some time, I boot to Windows and start Steam in offline mode. No issues.

Yes but if steam doesn’t remember you were logged in or if you didn’t have the “remember me/my password” box checked then you can’t go offline mode.

Well I never had that problem, ever.

That happened to me once before, luckily I had gcfscape backed up on a CD along with a patched hl2.exe that runs without steam.

Oh look at AC2’s DRM.

FUCK YOU.

I bought half-life generations because a friend lent me his (pirated) copy, which caused me to buy half-life 2 and episode 1 later on. I once played a pirated copy of Red alert 2, because of that i later bought the first decade. I also tend to buy movies rather than pirate them, though i might download them to check them out first if i’m not sure.

Free shit>Not free shit

Back in my undergrad days I used to get high end engineering software to work from home. But the fact fo the matter is I would never have been able to afford it without going to such extreme means. Now the uni pays for my expensive software, and pay me so I can buy games!

Don’t copy that floppy!

It’s not as if anyone still uses floppies anymore  .

I do. At my work. To transfer a spreadsheet from one computer to another because they STILL CAN’T GET THE NETWORK TO TRANSFER FILES! :’(

flash drives? ethernet cables?

Flash drives are possible if the machine had a fucking USB port! Ethernet, it’s not allowed by company contract. The computer cannot be on a network.

Why is it so?

The computer is owned by a third party. We can’t add or remove anything from it without breaking the contract we have with the company. :meh:

Better to be a nerd than a whore amirite?

Nope.
