Pink and black texture glitch

So, i was messing with the launch options and put dxlevel 80, just to see if performance increased.

Well, now I have this pink and black texture bug on the gun and some white line.

I removed the launch options, however the problem is still there, it doesn’t go away. Which means I have no other option other than to re-install the game.

EDIT (05:00 AM): Just removing “-dxlevel 80” from the Launch Options does not reset the engine to default, you have to reset it manually:

  1. Remove “mat_dxlevel ??” and “dxlevel ??” from the Launch Options.
  2. Add “-mat_dxlevel 90” or “-mat_dxlevel 95” or “-mat_dxlevel 98” to the Launch Options (refer to the Note below, for details).
  3. Start the game and load a map.
  4. Close the game.
  5. Remove “-mat_dxlevel ??” from the Launch Options.
  6. Play!

Not necessarily, refer to “Q6a …” in this thread (by lexa2), for details:

To remove the white line simply press ESC to pause the game, then open the options (“OPTIONS”), switch to the “Black Mesa” tab and uncheck “Enable HUD Post Process” in the lower right hand corner of said options menu.

It’s not required if OP would switch back into DirectX 9.x renderpath. Two triangles seen as outlined by the white lines is actually a fullscreen quad that is expected to be processed by fullscreen post-processing shader but as the game hasn’t supplied any custom shaders for dx8 renderpath the engine draws this quad as untextured wireframe.
