I don’t pedal while sitting down. This bike is obviously not intended for Tour de France - ish purposes. I do appreciate your concern however.
If I do get a dislocated knee, it will probably be because I’ll crash in some hilariously painful way. I can’t really ride, it’s only my 2nd season on an MTB.

seriously, you don’t really need front brakes unless you ride downhill or seriuos freeride.
most of the street riders go brakess even. saves weight 'n stuff.

brakes (or the lack of them) are simply the rider’s preference.

Well, I always made sure I had both front and back brakes for freestyle as well as racing.

And downhill was dam fun power-sliding with both wheels locked.
