Ugh, I hate the feel of those dell keyboards, they keys have no ‘umph’ to them.
I know what you mean.
In other news, I just got a genuine serial key for free at uni foooor…
My 8800 GT died and I took it back to the place I got it from, they didn’t have any replacements in so they gave me what their computer system designated as the most similar item which happened to be this:
A Gainward Bliss 8800 Ultra
And I got it for no extra charge.
I’m not very up to date with GFX now, how good is that in terms of the 9 series?
Not too sure, I’d assume it’s on a similar level to a 9800 GTX. Then again considering at the time I got my 8800 GT for £100-ish this card was retailing at £400 so I’d say I got a good deal
Haha yeah mate, i have the 8800GT. Bit out dated now, but its still a great card.
I just got this poster from eBay, except mine doesn’t have bullet holes.
Its a good film, got a little stale towards the end but i though it rescued itself well, to make a great film all in all = ]
Better than 9800GTX most of the time, not usually as good as 9800GTX+.
How long do you think before i’ll need a new card? Got an 8800GT, you think i’tll last another year before it struggles with games?
Depends on your monitor res. Games aren’t likely to jump forward in requirements until the next gen consoles.
If it’s okay now, it should be ‘okay’ for a while. The new DX11 GPUs come out rather soon, so who knows how that is going to relate to requirements in games at that time.
I’ve never ran my 8800GT at DX10, I keep using dx9 and have no problems whatsoever.
Yeah, pretty much same here. I don’t play many games these days anyway but I went on Company of Heroes and Gears of War and tried out DX10 to see the difference (obvs the 8800 GT had DX10 as well but it ran like a dog with no legs on these two usually). The difference was pretty outstanding but then again I’ve only got a 19" wide so an 8800 Ultra is mega overkill.
Edit: Then again, the GT was fine on most of my games. I just wish I knew why it had gone wrong. I was really gutted/pissed off when I realised that it was dead.
I’m probably going to upgrade my 8800GT once the next round of ATI and Nvidia cards are released and drop in price a little.
