I know who Benny is. I’ve seen him in enough movies, and read up on his competition fighting. He was amazing way back when.
My copy of Return of the Master Killer is only dubbed. No Chinese track or subtitles of any kind. So no matter what I prefer, that one was going to be in English.
However, I usually watch in their original language tracks with subtitles (which is difficult for older movies, the Shaw Brothers filmed their 70s movies without sound, and dubbed everything over later).
However, I watched all of the Once Upon A time in China (AKA Jet Li’s Wong Fe Hong series) in total Mandarin. No English in subs or dubs. I didn’t understand a word they said (other than Sifu), but I still got the idea of what was happening in each movie.
I’m more of a Gordon Liu fan myself though. Master Killer, 8 Diagram Pole Fighter, Challenge of the Ninja, and so many more.
But Jackie is a solid #2 by a small margin. Drunken Monkey in a Tiger’s Eye, Drunken Master, Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow, Fearless Hiena (spellcheck fucking sucks), Police Story 1 through New (unrelated, but still fun), and god I own a lot of his DVDs…

I was just wondering, as I know people who used dubs, and I just think that especially with the older films, it completely ruins the atmosphere.
Admittedly, I’m not too fond of Jackies recent films, but the direction he’s taking makes sense, he’s not as young anymore

Iphone 4 = 960 by 640 pixels (it’s still shit)

It’s a fucking phone! Not a full HD LED TV.
I want a phone to check emails, have a proper calendar, send texts, make phonecalls, have basic access to internet and stay in touch with Facebook.
There’s no movies on there, nor is there any music (apart from the Monkey Island theme I use as ringtone). I don’t intend to watch videos on it or play games on it.
If I want entertainment on the go, I have my iPod Touch.
I want my phone to make calls. I don’t need all that other crap.

emails, calendar, texts and especially web pages look worse on a low-res screen
So? My phone needs to call and text, and it was a welcome surprise when I found out it could run a gameboy emulator.
