picture Thread

(Sorry for the second post, but Murphy-O-Mally, that would be a horribly long post so, On we go with some picts taken yesturday.

Awesome pictures, Note-anator.

Thanks!

Loving those lilly pad ones.

I agree.

One of the best parts of photography in the digital arena, is being able to play with the images.

Editing is a huge part of it. One crop one way or the other can make or break the image.

It was raining, and though the camera I have is sealed very well, I was still rather nervous about taking out in the rain. (Shrugs)

VERY nice…

Well done

here are some pics from a trip I just took to Mexico.

I used my brother’s newer camera because mine was getting really beat up and I was surprised to find it didn’t seem to take as good of pictures.

Victus, I think you’ve posted all of those already.

Garthbarton…

You have a good eye.

I do like your veiw of the world.

The Cactus shot is really well done, as well as some of the ocean shots.

Nice.

(I really like the last one - makes me want to buy a ticket, grab the camera and kick back with a case of Corona.

Thanks a lot. :stuck_out_tongue:
Here’s another pic of the sunrise:

It’s a little off tilt and it bugs the heck out of me. Maybe when I’m not feeling lazy I’ll figure out how to rotate the image a few degrees.

Anyway, here are two tricks I really like to use:
I often try to put the focus or focuses of the shot towards the corner a little rather than in the center (a pretty common trick I’ve heard from other photographers).
Also, I “frame” pictures a lot. I’ll try and put a tree or a wall or something similar right on the edge of the photo.

I really like your lily pad shots BTW.

Corona anyone?

Pacifico is more my thang.

Edit: 4th of July weekend.

Was it tricky to get your camera working with the fireworks?

those are so fucking :awesome: And, what soup said ^ Reallyreallyreallyreally high shutter speed?
.

quick enough shutter speed should do it, and if the images end up too dark you could try longer one using a tripod to prevent shaking. that’d create some interesting light drags, i oughta try that.

Yeah the shutter speed was high, but it was no to tricky to take photos of them.
Thanks for the comments though! :stuck_out_tongue:

Whoops… I think I just ji… never mind.

Well done.

What camera were you using?

If I did, my mistake. Haven’t been on the BM forums in quite some time. Not sure as to what I did or didn’t do pre-hiatus.

To be honest, it was quite a while ago. It’s a fair bet the people frequenting this thread now haven’t seen them or don’t remember.
