the forest where i live.

tree in our backyard.

Thanks Soup.

With all the fancy-ass gear I have and a bit of luck, I should get at least the odd one that works… :-).

When I retire, I plan on filling the majority of my time doing photography - If I start to really study it now, in the next decade or so, I should be pro level.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Debdibib,

Very nice.

It is interesting to try and pick out the plants you have posted in the forest shot - Hardwoods. Here in the Pacific North west, we certainly do have some hardwoods, but for the most part, we have a lot of softer species.

The shot of the tree in your back yard is awesome…

I now hard four fruit trees in my back yard - A few more years should bring some fruit. I have a Sam Cherry tree - We usually get heavier June Rains, so I chose this type because the fruit does not tend to split like other types

What kind of tree is that?

It is an Japanese cherry; if I’m not mistaken.

Thanks for that. I kind of wondered…

So, shooters…

When you click your pics, do you have any kind of method to your shots, or do you just find things that you find interesting, and click away?

lol art festival

I found a four leaf clover in my backyard today!

shopp’d! :stuck_out_tongue:

But nice find

Speaking of flowers,

I threw the G10 pocket shooter in the work truck today, just for the LOLS…

I got these… Keeping in mind, this is not an SLR, merely a pro version of a point and click…

My Office

And…

And of course, the office staff…

God damn man, you sure have some nice views in your job.

No complaints in that department.

The Canyon can be a dangerous place and a person does well to keep their witts about them: but just the same - If one can stop long enough to smell the flowers, (Our job is often higher stress) you get to realize how fortunate you are to work amoung nature.

For all the goofy things that happen with management at CPR, one thing they do right, is enforcing appropriate rules for protecting the enviroment.

Cheers

Edit

For anyone looking for a new pocket shooter that is not going to kick you in the crotch as far as price goes, may I sugguest - The Panasonic DMC-FS3? This is a VERY compact little camera, sells for around $154, and takes amazing pictures for the price point. (I bought my mother one, because her old one was crap, and I wanted to get her one that was easy to use, and had good image quality.)

Here is a review.

https://www.digitalcamerareview.com/default.asp?newsID=3362

“Ultimately, then, the FS3 is an excellent combination of style and value, offering the look and features of a more expensive camera. We’re betting this one will have a strong following once the word about the FS series cameras gets out.”

Pros:

Nice color processing with plenty of control
Build quality and style among the best for this price
Impressive high ISO performance
Great point-and-shoot usability with very good results

Cons:

Menus can be clunky in places
Red-eye poorly controlled at times
Soft optics equals soft images
Timings not always first-tier

Keep in mind, this is a pocket shooter for under $160 - I Bought Mom’s for $138.

Amazing little camera…

Cheers
