His channel is tagged as a comedy channel, he’s in the top 100 most watched comedy channels and when he was ranting about immigrants, he had a green t-shirt on saying something along the lines of “Kiss me, I’m Irish”.

Why build a mosque there anyway? Just to show that they don’t CARE about what happened to the twin towers?
Presumably because there’s a community of Muslims in the neighbouring area who need somewhere to practice their religion.
They may care, but what does that have to do with it? Just because some rogue Muslims decided it would be a fun morning occupation to kill innocent people and cause a global crisis, doesn’t mean that every Muslim in the world should steer clear of NYC or Ground Zero.
It’s not because the American army caused a lot of civilian deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan, that every Christian in the world should sob and never ever come close to a Muslim ever again out of respect and/or shame.

Actually, that is not the only Muslim community center and/or mosque in New York. There are many MANY that are already there all over the place. They simply need another center due to the increase in the Muslim population so it is no surprise that a new one is being established.
Who would expect it to be the only community centre? We’re talking about fucking New York.

That particular area doesn’t have one, forcing Muslims who work there to commute ~45 minutes to the nearest one. Muslims are obligated to pray every day (maybe multiple times, I forget) so it’s pretty logical that they would want to build it.
Honestly this isn’t an issue to average Americans, the only real issue here is that we have a significant minority who wants America to declare war against Islam itself, and they are finally coming out in the daylight.
