why cant the guards pick up weapons? like rebels in hl2

Because BM is a remake of the original Half Life and guards hadn’t been picking up weapons there.

ok but there are a lot of things from hl2, like the hecu guys hiting you instead of kicking

So? You aren’t reporting a bug. It doesn’t mean that the mod team had to cater to that. This is a remake of HL1 like as was previously said. That should answer your question completely.

thats just a clever thing from ai wich is not a bad thing to include

ai is stupid enough, i play at medium and lot of times when hecu units are very far away from me (for example at the dam) they just freeze and its like ai switches off and I can snipe them.
or when I am suddenly appear behind them from a ladder or somehow they imidiatly turn back and start shooting and its hit me before they turn ! they like super aimbot.
but sometimes i can even go close to them and flash my flashlight or even tuch their back and they do not give a shit.

And, BTW, there are a lot of other problem related to AI that IMO would be good to fix/enhance at the first place rather than implementing weapons pickup functionality for NPCs.
