No view models

Hey there

I am missing all view models in the game. I can attack and shoot allrigt, and I see the crosshair and ammostuff, but I cannot see the gun I am holding. I have tried restarting, re-installing, rebooting. I also tried starting a new game, and use the console to give myself a crowbar, but with no luck. I checked the console, and when I gave myself the crowbar it wrote “Late precache of models/weapons/v_crowbar.mdl”, and same thing with the world model. I tried reloading my other save and look for something similar, but without luck.
It’s really sad, because the game is nowhere near as enjoyable with no guns :’(

I hope someone has a solution

Tried re-installing Source SDK 2007?

Just installed today, right before playing BMS, but I’ll give it a try

Does this work or is it just an idea?

Re-installing Source SDK Base 2007 made no difference, tried it just now :frowning:

Having the same issue here. The ‘looking at your hands’ animation played when I picked up the HEV suit, but other than that, the viewmodels are invisible for me as well.

Got it. This occurs if you run out of ammo and then pick up an item (like a flare). Just find some more ammo, pick up a flare or a box or something and put it down again and your view model should return.

Once you find the crowbar it shouldn’t be a problem at all.

I’m way ahead of the crowbar. I have gotten the pistol, it didn’t show up, so I looked for the grenades, thought maybe changing weapons would help, but it didn’t. The ‘looking-at-hands’ showed for me too. It seems this is a pretty common bug :frowning:

Okay guys, I saw someone say that if you pick up a flare before you pickup the crowbar, that’s when the bug occurs. I tried it, and it’s true. You can pick up all the other things, but not the flares. After you have the crowbar it’s no problem picking up flares  This must be related to the mechanics that hide your weapon when you pick up something…

Oooohhhh… So now I have to restart and not touch the flares. Jeez.
