No Shortcut

I know where the file is for Black Mesa, but i have no clue how to access it now. I cant find it one steam either, i would love to create a desktop shortcut as well.

Yes, I cant find that Lunch icon too!!!

Restart steam after instalation. It should then appear in your games library.

This should probably be written somewhere important. One of my friends got stuck at the same place

See i exited the game and logged out but when steam starts up nothing doesnt say anything but what games i have

I ran into this as well and tried a few times to re-install with no success.

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\BMS

Ram, is there no workaround for this? I have Steam running in dev mode so I can install some games to my SSD (ala this procedure), makes level load times mostly non-existent. Was able to play just fine for 4-5 hours tonight after installing but yeah, no shortcut. There’s no way to manually re-add it if you have it installed to a different directory?

Edit: Tried RabbiBob’s trick and no dice, opening the shortcut just comes up dead. How did you find the game ID? Is that something that would be unique to each Steam install?

Edit 2: Ok I found the steam ID in the steam.inf file in the BMS directory (was 218 for me). Unfortunately this just launches the Source SDK 2007 with default settings, no mod applied. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay I found it… For anybody that gets the same problem… the game won’t appear if you just click on Steam and that little menu shows up. You must enter Steam and go to game library!!!

If you’ve installed to the default path and you’re not seeing it in your Library:

Make sure the filter at the top of the list is set to ALL GAMES.

Otherwise, the following works to launch the game (alter for steam.exe install path).

“C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe” -applaunch 218 -game “…\SourceMods\BMS”
