No multicore rendering?

Hey guys,

nice work with the remake, very well done as far as i can tell, but unfortunately I have some performance issues with BM with the FPS dropping into the low 30s pretty often.

I’ve noticed that I can’t enable multicore rendering in the video options, it just doesn’t give me any options and I wonder if this is a bug, bad install or if the engine is just too old and limited to do this job? Even adding +mat_queue_mode 2 to either the autoexec or the launch options doesn’t make a difference.

Whats going on here?

For a possible workaround.

It’s probably because they’re on an older version of the engine.

Engine is too limited. 2007 Source Code doesn’t support Multi-Core rendering yet. It is in there, but unfinished/buggy/unuseable. Unfortunate but true, its first “official” appearance would be the 09 build, which you cannot mod because they never released its source.

Wow, I can’t help but think Valve might have just helped a little to get multicore sorted. So many machines playing it right now could have taken advantage of that… Bumsticks!
