BLEGH! Extremely frustrating

Download the installer and put it in the same folder as the blackmesa 7zip file.
You can download just the installer here: BlackMesa-Setup.exe

Once the installs finished restart steam and you can launch the game from there.

If anyone, for any reason, is unable to obtain the setup executable, it’s entirely possible to just unzip all that stuff into a folder called “bms” in the Steam/steamapps/Sourcemods folder. You don’t get to see the neat-looking installer, but that’s basically all it does.

and yes, it HAS to be called “bms”. DON’T RENAME IT or it WILL break things.

Isn’t the folder named “BMS” and not “bms”.
Not sure if caps matters but it could very well.

Wow, THANK YOU!

Didn’t even know there was a separate install exe out there…

LOL!

Totally not irrelevant to this thread

But i noticed that BlackMesa has it’s own OS, lol, good job, devs.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
