I will also be purchasing. I’m wondering what its starting price will be?
You can’t be serious… nice necro
What kind of miserable-fuck thread do we have here?
And the man who brought it back to surface – reprehensible…
fixd’
Double Necro? What the fuck.
Taking this thread back on track, I heard that the new Xbox right now is code-named “TEN” and will be talked about at CES in January.
The little information out there about the “Xbox Ten” says that MS is shooting for a launch date of late 2013.
Man, I came late to this party…
Dude, I remember that thread! Good times. Prolly one of the main reasons I decided to start an account, and join in the discussion.
There is a distinct possibility that Microsoft will release another platform, because Sony certainly has announced that it will. It’s the way these lifecycles work. You can’t expect to stretch the life of a particular platform forever.
IGN was suggesting that the codename for Microsoft’s new console will be given the moniker known simply as the Loop. Surely they won’t give it an utterly nonsensical title such as the Xbox 720, but ‘Loop’ isn’t exactly going to win awards either.
Whether you like it or not, Microsoft’s game division isn’t going to just sit on its laurels and let Nintendo release a more powerful system with motion controls.
Whatever they do, they’d be better off not rushing out a console as fast as possible, trying to beat the competition by a big time margin and then end up having mass hardware failures because that’s what made me decide never to get one.
Well, that and the PS3 being overall better, in my opinion.
If anything xbox related needs a huge overhaul, it’s live.
Seriously.
Screw consoles!! Where the hell is my Jarvis AI?
Jarvis be like “Would like some more coffee?”
and I’ll be like “Bitch, hell yea I like some more coffee”
I disagree. They need to stop making the dashboard worse.
If I end up getting their next console, I hope it doesn’t have the awful UI the 360 recently got updated to.
IMO, the best version of the dashboard was V1 “NXE” and the best version of the marketplace was the original.
Well, when the auto withdraws from your credit card end up scraping the bottom and instead of switching it back to silver it SUSPENDS THE FUCKING ACCOUNT, there’s a huge problem.
Not to mention all the holes in security there are.
My favorite dashboard was the second one.
My favorite dashboard was the wait fuck the 360 it’s shit
If they make a new xbox it would be great, gfx card developers could use this as a chance to build a great and efficient card capable of ‘Avatar’-like graphics and test them on a large scale. Also, they NEEED AT LEAST 4GB RAM. We aren’t in the damned stone ages, the PC i’m using has 4GBs of ram pre-installed on it at purchase, and it’s like 3 or 4 years old, it only costed $300(terrible price for what it’s worth). Come on, also that was a lazy and half-assed move from Microsoft to make an xbox slim and not even upgrade ANYTHING, heck I would have been happy if they at least upgraded it to like 1GB of RAM instead of the default 512MB, that would have made me upgrade, but even with the built-in wi-fi there is no reason to upgrade.
They can’t change anything on a console that may affect the way games run.
If they upgrade the console to 1gb of ram and new games started taking advantage of that, what about the players still using the 512mb version of the Xbox? How would they run the games?
The same way PC games are made, they can code different settings that are automatically lowered or heightened if 512MB memory or if 1GB memory is detected, PC gamers have no problem with this, it just tells them to upgrade for maximum performance and graphics.
Edit: and if it’s detected that this will somehow ‘enhance’ or make multiplayer an uneven advantage for 1GB consoles, then the new 1 GB will auto downgrade on servers with 512 MB consoles (shouldn’t be but a few extra lines of code.) and they can also play with the 1GB consoles on 1GB set servers.
(xbox 360 players used to play Halo 2 against Halo 2 Xbox players, (I don’t know about windows LIVE users)
That defeats one of the points of having a console, which is everyone having the exact same system with the exact same specs and all the games running exactly the same way.
Pfft, Xbox, Nintendo DSL is where it’s at.
