Yeah i have two XFX 4890s and there great, steer clear of the saphire vapor-x ones tho, if ur goin with the 4890, cause my two came defective.
What PSU does your machine have? Can you take a screenshot of the sticker on it?
I also have had bad luck with saphire as a brand. I have had two over the years with sub par fans.
CLUB 3D is a pretty good one.
Do they sell Club3D outside holland, though?
I concur though, I’ve had an 6800gt by Club3D, never had any problems with it for the 6 years I used it.
Now I have an 4870x2, also by Club3D, also works like a charm.
Ik wist niet dat Club3D Nederlands was.
Yup, it is.
Also: Sapphire, XFX are good manufacturors.
Learn about computers before buying one.
Think of it as buying shoes, you should know your size first, or else you may end up buying shoes 3 times too small for you.
I know my fair share about computers, thanks. My parents got me this computer for Christmas; so it’s not as if I was shown what’s in it.
EDIT:
That’s the inside of the case.
Max, I attempted to take a picture of the PSU, but the font on the sticker is so goddamn small that my camera won’t focus on it. Sorry…
Well a GTX 260 won’t fit in there. I doubt a 4890 would either. I do suggest the 5770 at this point. You likely won’t even need a new power supply unless it is REALLY bad.
Not to sound too persistent or anything, but I’m positive that a GTX 260 would fit in there. Because you can buy the computer with a 1792MB GTX 260.
Perhaps it is a trick of the angle, but a GTX 260 will extend past the edge of the motherboard by just over half an inch ( including the gpu cooler sheath ). From that picture there isn’t enough separation between the board and that vertical HDD. Unless there is room for the card to rest under the HDD, but from the angle, it doesn’t look like the case is that deep.
He can move the HDD to HDD1 above it.
Didn’t even notice the HD1 lable. Assumed it was floppy drive bay. My bad.
Yeah, it’s an easy enough mistake. There isn’t a floppy drive in here, just a few different SD Card Readers.
EDIT: Also, I found this on a site discussing the fact that you can buy the same computer as I have with a GTX 260 in it, but still with the 350W PSU in it.
Apparently it’s possible but I’m not gonna try it, it’s just to show that there is room in the case.
EDIT EDIT: Also, yes, I’m aware that’s a GTX 280.
/\ here is a 5670 card with what seems like a zalman cooler
The best choice would probably be a Radeon 5670 once it comes out, it’s a really good 1 slot card that only takes 55watts (no external power) and is pretty powerful (think, the 4670 could play Fallout 3 at 60fps everything max settings, imagine what this could do). Sapphire will probably make one with the same cooler as on their 4670 cards.
A 4850 will struggle on FO3 at certain points max’d out, I doubt the 4670 could do it. 5770 is a much better choice if u want good performance without killing ur wallet or ur psu.
Any recommendations as to which?
Also, if I were to get a 5770, should I expect a significant improvement in performance with games?
You will see a big improve over ur GT220, plus you get DX11. Since the XXX edition is sold out, I would go with the XTreme Edition.
There is a deal on newegg right now. 5850 with a free power supply.
Just in case you were interested.
You’re probably trying to zoom in too much, with that camera you could take the pic from pretty far away and still be able to read it.
