New Valve game to be announced tomorrow!

you know blizzard has other games besides warcraft right

they have a few small franchises like starcraft and diablo

uhm, no

blizzard’s community exists because of people playing warcraft, starcraft, diablo and wow, including mods (mainly of wc3, which has a huge mod community creating loads of custom maps and mods)

[COLOR=‘Red’]WHATS THE GAME!?!?!?!

Are you serious?

It’s DOTA 2.

this song will never be the same

Or will this one.

Oh wait

So I’m wrong in saying that IceFrog help the Blizzard (or, more specifically, the Warcraft III) community because they make mods, whereas your’e saying that the community exists because a lot of people play mods for Blizzard’s games, specifically Warcraft III. /logic.

notice how i also mentioned other things than mods
/logic

Well yes, of course the Blizzard Community is made up of more than just modders. But firstly, a large part of the longevity of the game is derived from a game’s mod-ability (such as, for example, Warcraft III), so they’re hardly an insignificant subset. And secondly, my point was made in response to someone who said talked about the “disgusting Blizzard Community” who made DOTA, so obviously he was talking about the mod-centric aspect of it. While I may have talked generally in response to his odious remarks, there’s no sense including Starcraft players in a discussion about DOTA, since the two aren’t really related, even though they are broadly all part of the nebulous ‘Blizzard Community’.

point taken

just as an aside, to defend Blizzard a bit, the mod community was made possible thanks to Blizzard’s tools and continued support

I don’t think there’s any need to defend Blizzard; they’re either the most, or at least one of, the best video game companies around. Their long-term support is almost unparalleled (source: Warcraft III got its last update in March this year, and Starcraft got one last year; that’s 10 years of support), and the quality of their games…well, that one goes without saying.

Plus, and perhaps more importantly: They support Mac, and have done for decades.

blizzard would probably be up there with valve in my list if they hadn’t made the atrocity that is world of warcraft

every single day they delay the release of diabloiii to make some shitty wow expansion i die a little inside

lmao

lmao

seriously, his left hand, (on the picture the right hand) looks creepy :fffuuu:

He should be in Dota 2 as a monster. Ghouls should be replaced with him.

  1. wow is a good game for what it is: an mmorpg

  2. you sound like people complaining about portal 2 or dota because it supposedly takes time away from ep3

  3. shut up

Yes I have to agree. WoW rocked the MMORPG market in the way only Blizzard can: Completely. I mean seriously, WoW was released in 2004, and almost seven years later still holds 54% of the Western MMO market, and that’s not even counting Asia. If you’re going to make an MMO, you might as well do it right, and Blizzard couldn’t be said to get a lot wrong.

Ok this is good and all. I’m glad to see VALVe releasing another game. But WHERE THE FUCK IS EPISODE 3!?!?!?!?!

1 no

2 no

3 no

also no

Now you know not to argue with this guy! :retard:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
