THA – Mode 7

Orange Robot is encased in fabric and stuffing, so he looks like a stuffed toy. He lives in a perpetual state of depression because it’s the only emotional state he was programmed to have.

Emo robot is emo:

Face is a good dog. Face lives in a tree and barks at anyone that passes by. Face likes to chase birds and dig holes in the ground.

Face is also very strong and can pull the weight of a tractor with little effort. He has six tractors buried around the tree that he lives in.

They’re scavengers, they get into absolutely everything and there are thousands of them about. Not to mention that they’re also filthy. They’re like a plague...

Those are great, good job.

I love the Emo Robot & Pigsquitoes :jizz:

Can you explain how you made a song with 4 Game Boy emulators? Chiptunes are awesome.

Thanks.

In the music software I use, Jeskola Buzz Tracker, there’s an emulation of the Game Boy sound chip and all it’s features. Perhaps, “emulated sound chip” is a more accurate term.

There are a couple more old hardware emulations in Buzz, like the ZX Spectrum and C64.

I vaguely remember talking to you about this a while back. Can Buzz export XM tracks?

Nah, there’s no XM export. It can export into various audio formats and there are importers for XM and IT files, but that’s it.

Ever heard of Anamanaguchi? Pretty solid tbqh.

Yes I have, and I’d also like to know how they are doing chiptunes with live instruments :fffuuu:

Ha I saw the Emo Robot on a wallpaper site once thought about using it too its a nice style.

and your chiptune is great as well nicely composed

Keep it up

Thanks! Hah. Funny how fast things move around the internet.

It’s called a MidiNES. It’s an NES cartridge that’s had a Midi cable attached to it. It lets you access the NES soundchip via any midi device or sequencer.

I have one and have been messing with it for a few years. It’s pretty cool. It’s kind of a pain in the ass though, which is why I haven’t used it in any tracks. I tend to just fake the sounds, since they’re just saw waves and whatnot. But, if you want to be all purist and douchey, the MidiNES is the most authentic NES sound you can get. :stuck_out_tongue:

There are similar cartridges for the Game Boy that let you either sequence right on the GB itself or access it via midi.

As for playing live, there are ways to convert guitar signals into MIDI, like a Roland GR-20. You could use that to play the MidiNES with a guitar.
