New Arm and Hand Texture

I tried to make a higher resolution texture, for people like me who don’t really like the Animation Revamp,because of the animations being long,or other reasons.
I’m not really experienced in texturing,so please don’t hit me.
I think they turned out quite good.
edit: I updated the Files a second time,I think I fixed my gripe with the glove.

I will try to work on it a bit more as I’m really not satisfied with the inner part of the glove.

I didn’t change the shaders much from the original,I tried fiddling around with the vmt but I don’t really know how I would achieve a metal look.
So I left it as it was.

The textures of the Revamp are already of much higher quality.
No, the texture wouldn’t work, it’s a different 3D-Model.
You have to think of it as paper cutouts that only fit around one object and no other one.
It would be as if you would try apply a MP5 texture to a shotgun.

I updated the first post with a new link.
I updated the texture.
It now looks more like metal.
I also changed the glove.
But it looks a bit painted on. edit: <- I think I fixed that now.

I kind of like the rubber look.

It’s supposed to be metal,as you can see on the original texture.
There are scratches on the paint that reveal the metal.
But the tetxure resolution is really low and the scratches are in places you won’t often see ingame.
Most of the animations in the game seem to try to hide the arms,maybe the BMS devs themselves weren’t happy with the arm model and texture.

It’s metal indeed to protect Gordon’s body, but I guess there is nanotechnology aswell, cause when the suit takes damage, it needs to reload at a station. I only wonder why we don’t see impact on his arms when a bullet or something hits him, like electric arcs running over the suit when taking damage

It was a game from 1998 and you’re a floating arm with a crowbar.

I wasn’t too pleased with the Animation Revamp’s arm textures, so I made my own for them

kinda more gritty/used feel to them-I like to think Gordon used the Hazard Course daily (and that explains why he was late for work as well)

You just put a black overlay over the original texture

nah, gave it a new alpha, so instead of solid white, it gives more depth to the texture

same goes for any model, really

So can u update those of the Animation revamp aswell with those new alpha? :slight_smile:

I’m not seeing where thanez’ hev normals have a solid white alpha channel

No offense, but that’s all I’m seeing too, and an amped up phongexponent value

those are the normals, not the base texture

and solid white, or any light gray gives it that plastic-like sheen, the darker it is, the less it shines

I gave the normals and the base textrues the same alpha, which leads to the light being shiny in some areas while not in others, giving it a scratched appearance

You don’t have to download them, I’m not saying “Use mine over his”

it’s your choice,it’s just my personal preference, that’s all
