my very first "Old picture" recolor

here is the original black and white of Kurt Cobain’s mugshot

and here is my attempt to recolor it, it’s my very first attempt

I hope you guys like and please give me your feedback

Might just be me, but I can’t see any pictures.

Edit: nvm, just epic lag xD

please host the images somewhere else, it takes hours to load

they load perfectly nice with me :S

edit : there you go, I hosted them in a different site

I don’t understand the point of what you’re doing here, mind explaining what this is?

bscly

so you’re trying to make a black and white picture look more aged and stretched out? Why?

nah, I told you man this is my very first try of recoloring an old picture

You and I must have differing opinions on the definition of “recolor.”

You did technically color it…

Why did you change the aspect ratio?

so is that what concerns you all ? that I re-sized the original picture ?

You did a fine job, as far as recoloring goes. I mean, no matter what you do, it’s always going to look like all the colors came from a mayonnaise factory. It’s the same problem as the early days of trying to color film, it just looks weird unless it’s natively colored.

thanks  , and yes you’re right maybe someday we’re going to be able to redo the Original old pictures with the best quality available

You never answered Wheybags, why did you change the aspect ratio?

for no reason :stuck_out_tongue: , and would you be kind enough to send me that tutorial ?

If you think its helpful to randomly stretch images in order to “fix” them, no amount of tutorials are going to help you. Fortunately, the screenshot is for an app called “Recolored” which automatically recolors black and white images - just what the doctor ordered. I’m guessing its at Recolored.com?

cool, thanks man

why did you stretch the image???
