Nope, it wasn’t funny at all.
Models are not bad considering you’re a beginner.

Yeah, the ‘room’ modelling was my very first attempt. Then the lego build was my second attempt (was inspired by the lego games). You gotta start somewhere right

Right. And I wish you luck with your future projects.

It was okay, Ill be looking for more.

Meh, I didn’t LMAO, but it was O.K., anyway nice modeling.

Thanks for the comments ! I’ll post back here for my future modelling/video projects!

Where did you get that gothic Alyx? Never seen it before.

Also, you are very good at modelling, those are brilliant.

Gothic Alyx came from some mod made by a guy named ‘fakefactory’. The mod’s called: ‘Cinematic Mod’.

I found it recently! And now I heard a newer version is available:

SPOILER ALERT IN VIDEO! DO NOT WATCH UNLESS YOU CLOCKED HL2 AND IT’S EPISODES!

“FakeFactory’s Cinematic Mod is a modification which adds high-resolution textures to nearly all of the objects in the original Half-Life 2. The mod replaces the original music with orchestral scores and also modifies weapon strength to resemble realistic stopping power.” - valve developer community.

PS: thanks for your comment

I don’t like the Cinematic Mod.
It destroys the whole atmosphere IMO
And the Characters look stupid, they’re HD but they don’t look good, especially Dr.Eli

I knew they had CM9.5, but I thought it ended there. Glad he released another one. FakeFactory has been around for ages, everybody should try out some of his packs (either his cinematic mods or just his hi-def packs - both are great additions to HL2).

Yeah, 9.5 was the first cinematic mod I tried out. I really liked the soundtrack (since being a fan of the Batman movies)!

To those who don’t like the models it offers, it is possible to toggle them to the originals etc.

Overall, Cinematic Mod is a good experience.

Yeah, if you feel like downloading 10 GB of files. Jesus it’s huge.
Plus, from what I read, you need quite the system to run it.

Yeah, the biggest problem with CM that it requires a 64 bit machine to run the game. This is mostly due to the excessive amount of RAM it needs. HOWEVER, I’ve heard recently that users with a 32bit machine can also play the mod too! The best place to really know is Fakefactory’s homepage etc.

I also agree its huge! But I just see it as like if I’m downloading a game through my steam account!

Cinematic models…:fffuuu:

Man, FakeFactory skins are awful. I’d forgotten how bad they were.

Yup, the later versions offer you an option to turn the skins off.

Actually I think you only need 64 bit to run it well.

That’s good. He does great work, but I don’t like the replacement models he offers. Maybe that’s just because I’ve already grown to love the Half-Life characters over the years as they are.

Is the option to toggle off his replacements in an ingame menu, or do we have to delete files out of the mod folder?

The option is not in-game, but is available on a seperate application called ‘character pimper’. It’s really easy to use, so no problems there.

When you install fakefactory V9+, the skins are the HL2 by default.
