If you ignore the right people, it’s pretty rare. Still, if you have missed something, you can click “View post” to expand the ignored message.
And not only does quoting avoid the “next-page confusion” (morons using the chevron as an up-arrow always end up doing this) and the shame of having your reply Ninja’d, but quoting also makes it easy for ignorers to see relevant messages from the ignored.
For a while, it’s very tempting to click every instance of “View post” you see. Then if you do it long enough, you start to realize exactly how much of an idiot the person you ignored is. When you go (very slightly) out of your way to view their posts, you get to feel that :facepalm:-worthy disappointment, at peak magnitude.
