Music in the tenticle silo

after clearing the lowest level of the tenticle silo and before firing the engine
music is very loud

changing sound/music options didnt make any difference

I had headphones on in that part and my ears practically fell off from how loud the music was.

Where is the zone you encouter that particularity?

The map and the place… tell me. :frowning:

All of the music in the game is pretty loud. In the other HL games, the music is sort of placed in the background, so it never drowns out the rest of the noises. In BM, it’s always in the foreground and sometimes drowns out the other sounds in the game.

OK. I will install that wonderful mod…and while I fixing my own game, I will find a way to correct that, OK? For a while, put the music down until it’s sounds just right.

By the way, I will propose some fixes here soon, also I will find a way to correct some bugs easily. Peace.

There is a console command to adjust the music volume specifically:

snd_musicvolume "<VALUE>"

Note: Replace with any (valid) value between 0 and 1.0.

With 0 being 0% and 1.0 being 100% volume.

Just add snd_musicvolume “” to the autoexec.cfg and see if it works, in-game.

Don’t forget to replace , though.

EDIT (03:07 AM): This is what the console says about snd_musicvolume:

Note: Use either the ‘find snd_musicvolume’ or the ‘help snd_musicvolume’ commands (both without ‘’), to recreate said quote.

For me it always resets to 2 Speakers, when I want to put it on “Headphones”, so I have to do it every time before I start playing.

Sersoft, that depend of the sound card you use. Some support on-applications sound options, some not.I have a HD realtek sound card,so…it’s worked for me.

And this is also a current bug in Half-life 2, some options just not stay where they are. Problem with the registry codes, I guess. :[
