Hmm…?
I sense a Cyber-Cafe account, or a hacked account.
Looks cool, not that I plan on getting CoD6:MW2.
I bought Halo 3 used for thirty bucks, then bought the helmet on eBay for forty. The helmet is way to small to fit over the head of some douche that’s supposed to be seven feet tall.
Not to mention it’s just an unwearable hunk of plastic that doesn’t even look good on display.
I guess you might get the collectors edition for its resale value. Although that might actually be less if the game is crap.
Fine, don’t buy the special edition, and you wont have to worry about having spent money on something that doesn’t work.
But in todays modern marketing laws, you can’t at all say they work and have them not actually work.
But like I said, don’t buy them Kaze and you wont have a problem, some of us though like to collect these kinds of special edition memorabilia and thats purely up to us.
Tbh man, I don’t know why your kicking up such a fuss over what we choose to buy.
Thanks for informing us of that, especially with the bold, italics, and underline.
There is no fuss, and yes, the marketing does work because people are stupid enough to fall for it. I’m simply pointing out how much of an obvious money sink it is and how it serves no purpose…aesthetically or functionally.
If you recall, Jambo made the remark you can get a decent pair of night vision goggles for under $100, which, as you should probably know, is a load of shit. And that’s if you get them from a reputable company. THAT is why there is “such a fuss”. I couldn’t give a shit less if you do buy it, just puts more money into flow.
Real night vision is the shit! Driving at night with no lights on ftw.
Half the reason you drive with your lights on at night is for other cars to see you, bub.
Lol. I’ve never done it, but I know someone that has. I’ve used his night vision and it is awesome. Also he has to do it for his job…but I won’t get into specifics.
As for myself, I’m a leet driver. I’ve never caused an accident and have only had one ticket (although I speed all the time).
That actually happened here in Aus not long ago, a guy wanted to test how fast his car would go, without being pulled over by the highway patrol.
So he got some NVG’s and apparently got to about 250KM/h before he went past a speed camera, that clocked him.
That was never actually proven, you just ranted that it couldn’t be true and expected everyone to agree with you. I’ll get the collector’s edition if it’s not too highly priced, or grab a pair of NV goggles from ThinkGeek to see if they really work. It’s only like $90 after all.
Not really. I’ve come to learn by now that I shouldn’t expect everyone on this forum to be intelligent all the time.
You’re getting soft, Kaze. I can’t believe I have to correct a post of yours to be harsher.
Is that better Jon :3?
Makes me hot.
I’m usually in favour of cynicism and healthy scepticism, but I’m not sure what’s so unbelievable about affordable night-vision. After all infra-red light, digital cameras and small video screens are commonplace technology these days (for one thing you can find them all in fairly basic mobile phones), not Star Trek levels of futuristic dreaming.
Because a set of proper, quality night vision goggles, binocular style, are nowhere near the sub-$100 range. You can’t even pick up a decent monocular NVG for $100. Maybe $150-$200, but not $100.
A real pair of binocular night vision goggles is going to run you at the very least $200, and that’s pushing the low end of the spectrum. If you want a pair of uber-leet Sam Fisher special ops stealth mode ultra wall hax binocular goggles like these generic goggles IW is packing with the game are advertised as, you’re going to spend at least $500-$600 or more.
Have you ever worn a pair of $100 night vision goggles? They wash out your vision and you go effectively blind. You can see better with your eye’s natural night vision after it adjusts to the lower sensitivity of light than you can with a low quality NVG.
This is a pair of sub-$100 NVGs. Look pretty legit huh?

Yeah, they’re the same ones ThinkGeek “made”, from that link Jambo posted. They’re a kids toy.
And theres me thinking this thread was about call of duty, how silly of me!!
