Model 29 .44 Magnum

So I’ve been sitting on this “Dirty Harry” Magnum model of mine for over a year now. Would anyone like to see it in Black Mesa? Also have a snub-nose variant.

And GameBanana!

Well everything’s working beautifully except the animations have to be redone. Completely.

Needs less bump, more spec.

Yea it is a bit rough looking. Like the metal got pitted from rust and wear and was recoated. The model looks great though, Sage.

A little texture work and I’d be honored to have this beaut in my mods collection.
Shame there aren’t many good mods for Black Mesa Steam yet, my mod collection is pathetically small at the moment.
One day, I will have IIopn’s Beretta…

Was originally made for a mod set in Half-Life 2’s time, so hope it looking a bit rough would be acceptable there. But I fully agree it’s not nearly as fitting for Black Mesa, will adjust it accordingly.

Any other suggestions, texture or otherwise?

Edit: Animation progress is coming along. Took a bit to get used to the BM arm rig, but I think it’s not too shabby, yes?

If you’re looking for suggestions, the grip looks to be a bit on the red side imo. It might be better if it was slightly more brown. Also at the end of the admire animation, it’s like gordon barely glances at the right side of the gun while he takes a second or two to study the left side. I wouldn’t call it snappy, but it’s not super “believable”, for lack of a better word

Sorry to not give any updates for a while, still working on the last couple animations. After that will likely be a lot of tweaking this and that, but, should be at a point where it’s ready for release on the workshop soon, maybe even before the weekend’s out.*

*Might not include the pickup admire at first release. Only affects the weapon once in the SP game, and I’d like to do it a little differently than what’s in game at the moment.

I’d also consider releasing it on Gamebanana. If nothing it’s a good website for feedback and a good place to link to the workshop page to.

But of course, big GB fan. But more for my reason of posting, it’s out now.

Went with a different admire draw than first planned, but hopefully it fills the role. Everything should be working, including multiplayer compatibility and ammo pickups properly labeled as .44 rounds. Please let me know if you find anything to the contrary.

Beautiful! Just subbed to it on the workshop, I’ll check it out ingame as soon as I get a chance.

Updated the GameBanana submission to work with the Crossfire Update, will be updating the Workshop submission once the upload tool realizes that Steam is running.

It might be a while.

Edit: 95% chance I just messed something up on the Workshop. Please lemme know.

Hope double posting after a month is acceptable, just wanted to say, got a new Workshop submission up, link’s up in the top post and also right here. Exciting stuff.
